Great Pacific garbage patch
[edit]In your edit to the Great Pacific garbage patch you added the following
When thinking about pollution in the ocean the term "garbage patch" comes to mind while there are many, many students are most familiar with The Great Pacific Garbage Patch. [1]The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is not the only garbage patch it is just known for being the largest.
I reverted your edit because it had a few issues.
- Mention of "students" is odd in a general encyclopedia with readers throughout the world.
- There were tone issues: "many, many students" is too informal.
- Your source did not support the statement - it says nothing about what "comes to mind" when students think about the Great Pacific garbage patch. References need to support the specific content you add to the article.
- You added this content to the lead section. The lead section is supposed to summarize the content of the article body. The text you added ("perceptions of the garbage patch"?) does not seem to be a summary of any section in the article.

You have an overdue training assignment.
