Hi VitaminPat - It's a good pic, but where did it come from? If you took it yourself, it's probably OK. If it's taken from a magazine, your use of it is probably violating the magazine's copyright. There are more details about copyright at Wikipedia:Image use policy. Colonies Chris 19:03, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My comment

[edit]

I found it on the internet; I really didn't know what else to use.

    • Have a look at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags/All, particularly the section Public domain. The image is likely to be under copyright unless the source clearly states that it's not copyright. Getting hold of this sort of pic free of copyright can be difficult, unless you take it yourself or you can find a source that explicitly provides public domain images. You might try looking at other NBA-related articles with images to see where they've come from. Colonies Chris 10:57, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Einstein article

[edit]

Hi there, I see you are a great admirer of Albert Einstein. Seeing as you're quite new to Wikipedia, you wouldn't have any way to know that posting the entire source code for articles on your User page would create a problem. You may have noticed that at the end of each article -- the very bottom of the page -- there is a cluster of "Categories". The result was that your User page turned up in listed in several dozen categories -- which, of course, is terribly misleading. So I've removed ALL of the categories, as well as the links to Wikis in other languages. I would encourage you to read up on some of the basics of Wikipedia so you can avoid other inadvertent problems in the future. Just follow the links in the Welcome Message above. Good luck in your editing! Cgingold 21:30, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
