[edit]Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 07:08, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
Game programming.
[edit]You said (On the Computing Ref Desk) that you wanted to chat about games programming? I'd be happy to do that (via email if you prefer) - I'm 'steve@sjbaker.org'.
I've actually spent most of my career in Military Flight Simulation (which is like the biggest, most expensive computer game you've ever seen!) - but a few years ago I decided to switch over to games programming. I worked with Midway on titles for PC/Xbox360/PS-3 - but Midway have been in deep financial poop for a while and they eventually shut down their Austin Texas studio to save money - and dumped the game I was working on. Now I'm working for a tiny company called "Total Immersion" (Also in Austin) who make "serious games" for the US military, Homeland Security, the Police, various Fire departments and the FBI. We have plans to transition over to traditional games development once the government has paid for us to develop the technology!
Anyway - what, specifically do you want to know?
