[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that you removed some content from List of Sengunthars without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; I restored the removed content. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Agamudayar, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! I have just had to revert you at that article for the same reason. Have you read our attitude to verifiability? Is there something in it that you do not understand? - Sitush (talk) 12:33, 26 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for ur mention I will provide now...thanks a lot 🙏🏼

The Wikipedia community has permitted administrators to impose discretionary sanctions on any editor who is active on any page about social groups, explicitly including caste associations and political parties, related to India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal. Discretionary sanctions can be used against an editor who repeatedly or seriously fails to adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, any expected standards of behavior, or any normal editorial process. If you engage in further inappropriate behavior in this area, you may be placed under sanctions, which can include blocks, a revert limitation, or a topic ban. The discussion leading to the imposition of these sanctions can be read here.

Please familiarise yourself with the information page at Wikipedia:General sanctions/South Asian social groups.

You just added a source here and to a related article but it mentions neither Thevar, Mukkulathor nor Agamudayar. You can't just make things up! - Sitush (talk) 15:32, 26 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You just check this page https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1891_census_of_India Sources telling all the castes under mukkulathor (agamudayar, kallar, maravar) are martial class.

Please check 1891 census of India.

R.H.R.; S. de J. (January 1926). "Obituary: Sir Athelstane Baines, C.S.I.". Journal of the Royal Statistical Society (London: Royal Statistical Society) 89 (1): 182–184.

You have just added it again. The obituary makes no mention of the communities, as I have already told you. Furthermore, Wikipedia is not itself a reliable source. Please click on that link and read the information. Then revert your edit. SpacemanSpiff has already issued a formal notification above and so you are now on very dodgy ground and should be discussing before making changes, not trying to impose your opinion at the article. - Sitush (talk) 17:02, 26 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, I've now fixed the relevant bit of the 1891 census article as it was incorrect. The census report made no mention of the Thevar communities - the article had been vandalised to include information that is not in the cited source. - Sitush (talk) 17:20, 26 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
