Help requested
[edit]I would like to revise the Water Forest Press Publishing page per guidelines. Can I begin this page again and have these delete templates removed? I am hoping this is the appropriate talk page to post on for help with revisions. Also, how would I go about contacting the Admin who posted to me last night? I can't find any links to email. Thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by Victoriasky (talk • contribs)
- If you're talking about User:OliverTwisted, he/she has chosen not to use e-mail; just leave a message on their talk page. As to your article: it looks strongly like you have a conflict of interest on that particular topic, and therefore should not be doing anything about it. If the press is genuinely notable, somebody without a conflict of interest will eventually create an article about it. (Repeated recreations of advertisements, on the other hand, lead to an article title being blocked to prevent recreation (we call it "salting" as in "salting the earth"). --Orange Mike | Talk 19:38, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
- Hi. Thanks for getting right back to me. I do have a revision ready that is not an advertisement. As a new user, I blooped and learn by trial and error. If you do not want me to post my revision, is there a way to remove the topic: Water Forest press publishing entirely from the Wikipedia and google search page? I do have a reputable small press and do not want readers to see a deleted page on Wikipedia or on google with my name on it. Thanks for your help. (had I realized last night how to communicate, this may have been avoided:-) I inadvertently tried to revise the page before deletion, while they probably thought I was ignoring their warnings and simply removing tags, which was not the case. I was trying to conform to guidelines.
- The deleted pages do not show up on Google, don't worry. Even if it got indexed they will probably remove it. --Unpopular Opinion (talk) 20:03, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
- Google crawls Wikipedia every day and will update or delete material accordingly. I was not the admin member who deleted the page on Water Forest Press Publishing, I was only the New Page Patrol editor who happened to first see the article. The article was tagged due to marketing verbage and an apparent WP:COI with the author (Victoriasky). If the article is reintroduced after addressing the WP:SPAM issue, and has included sources showing notability, as listed here: WP:ORG and WP:RS, it should not be tagged for deletion. If these issues are not addressed, the article will more than likely go through the same process with another editor. I would be happy to work with the author, and we can communicate via our respective talk pages, rather than email. Best regards for the new year. --OliverTwisted (Talk) (Stuff) 20:46, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

Water Forest Press Publishing
[edit]Hi. I went ahead and created the page, to avoid any COI issues. Please add sources as they become available. I can't stress enough the importance of this for this article's long term survival. Best regards. --OliverTwisted (Talk) (Stuff) 01:41, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
I can't thank you enough for all your help. I'll transfer info and start shaping this page up. Victoriasky (talk) 02:58, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

Dated cleanup tags
[edit]Hi, thanks for your message, SmackBot does not generally add tags, but merely dates those that are already there. IN htis case the tag was added by TexasAndroid. Regards, Rich Farmbrough, 05:19 4 January 2009 (UTC).
