The article Mat Hennek has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. ttonyb (talk) 14:37, 5 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:CZ-Cerchov-II.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

Problems with upload of File:CH-Nufenenpass-I-2009.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:CH-Nufenenpass-I-2009.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or what the copyright status is. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

Help request

[edit]

Hello, I do not understand why the wikipedia pages i created for photographer Mat Hennek has been deleted in english, and in french (?) I am the agent of this photographer, I work with him closely and all the information i have written is true, and reliable. I don't know what kind of "sources" i need to put, apart form his website, and his galleries' websites... I have created the pages many times, and it keeps getting deleted. This photographer is german, living, and there is no biography published on him. The photos are his photos, so how do I prove that he has the rights for intellectual property ? Thanks for the help

Hi, I do not see any pages you created, only some files, which have been deleted due to lack of licensing information. I also see that you are blocked indefinitely because of disruptive editing, and that this account is a vandalism-only account. Regards, TBloemink (talk) 12:59, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot for your answer. I did not even know that I was blocked indefinitely and that my account was vandalism-only... (???) This is so weird. I created two pages, which both have been deleted and they don't even show up in the search engine now. How can I fix this and be unblocked? I just want to create a page, for the artist I represent, Mat Hennek. He has a page in german already - i was not the one to create it, his former assistant did it - and I updated it ma few times. All I need is the same page in french and the in english and I do not understand why it is so hard to make. Also, I am not sure what the "licencing information" is. Is this the "source" ? I have no specific source, it is his life, his galleries, and his work that I am describing/presenting. And the photos are his photos... Please can someone help me get unblocked and figure out why wikipedia is deleting my pages all the time? Many thanks in advance

I see that you are blocked for removing the deletion template of your pages/file several times, which is not allowed. If you want to get unblocked, you need to follow the instructions in the message above, which says that you have been blocked. Regards, TBloemink (talk) 13:09, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I don't think "vandalism-only account" is a reasonable description. However, the fact that you are the person's agent means that you have a conflict of interest, and should not be writing about him here. However, you presumably know that, since you have already been told about it. It seems to me that the article you wrote was an attempt to promote its subject, but Wikipedia is not a free advertising service, and attempting to use Wikipedia for promotional purposes is against policy. If the person you wrote about is genuinely notable then probably some uninvolved third party will write a neutral article about him so that you won't need to do so. However, my searches have failed to produce any evidence that he is notable, and if he isn't then we do not need an article on him. I think it is very unlikely that you will be unblocked as long as it is clear that your intention is to promote a subject for which you have a conflict of interest.
