Supporting Indian Wikipedia Program resource distribution

In 2017 - 2018, the Wikimedia Foundation and Google working in close coordination with the Centre for Internet and Society (CIS), Wikimedia India chapter (WMIN) and user groups will pilot a program encouraging Wikipedia communities to create locally relevant and high-quality content in Indian languages. This program (Code name: Project Tiger) will:

(a) Support active and experienced Wikipedia editors through the donation of laptops and stipends for internet access and
(b) Sponsor a language-based contest that aims to address existing Wikipedia content gaps.

The objective of the program is to provide laptops and internet stipends for existing editors who need support to contribute more actively. 50 basic model Acer Chromebooks and Internet stipends for 100 contributors are available for distribution. Provided resources are the sole property of the beneficiaries and should be used for the betterment of the movement.

If you're an active Wikimedian, and interested to receive support from this project, please apply. It will take around 10 minutes of your time, and will ask descriptive questions about your contribution to Indic Wikimedia projects.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Jaipur, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Eid (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:29, 11 March 2018 (UTC)

Phase (b) will be a contest in which editors will come together and develop a writing contest focused on content gaps. Rollback granted

Hi Vibhss. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Beeblebrox (talk) 18:34, 27 April 2018 (UTC)

@Beeblebrox: Thanks a lot. I'll try to make the best possible use of my rollback rights. Vibhss (talk) 18:37, 27 April 2018 (UTC)

Information icon Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to IndiGo, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. Jetstreamer Talk 13:34, 18 May 2018 (UTC)

@Jetstreamer: I removed the citation needed template from the infobox because sources have already been defined for hub and operating bases in Destinations section of article IndiGo. I mentioned about it in my edit summary also. What wrong I did? Vibhss (talk) 16:38, 19 May 2018 (UTC)
Removing a citation needed tag from the list of bases without providing a citation to support them is plainly disruptive. And you did it again without discussing the matter first. I've reinstated the {{cn}} tag [1] and it should stay that way until you or anyone else adds citations to support each individual entry with a reference that clearly says "Airport XXX is an operating base for IndiGo", per WP:VERIFY. Yes, you are totally right. Apologies. I crossed out my reply as a memorial to my stupidness.--Jetstreamer Talk 18:11, 19 May 2018 (UTC)

ArbCom 2018 election voter message

Hello, Vibhss. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)

List of Indian states and union territories by GDP per capita

I had edited the value from 95,562 to 108,372 because it was given in the medium term fiscal policy statement & fiscal policy strategy statement 2018-19. Proud India Guy (talk) 22:14, 16 December 2018 (UTC)

@Proud India Guy: That figure for WB is for per capita GSDP, not per capita NSDP. For all other states, only per capita NSDP figures have been mentioned and WB must not remain any exception with per capita GSDP figures. Since per capita GSDP figures are not available for most of the states as their governments release only per capita NSDP figures, we're bound to use per capita NSDP figures for all states including WB. Per capita GSDP figures are always going to be higher than per capita NSDP and mentioning them for WB only unfairly raises it's rank. I also noticed your manipulative edits in which you maliciously raised WB's value further to 130,000 without any source. You've also disrupted the list with removal of Rajasthan's data in your latest edits. You can get blocked from editing for such malicious and disruptive edits.

For now, only per capita NSDP figures are being used in that list article and they are available for latest ended fiscal year (2017-18) for all states including West Bengal. That figure of 95,562 which you're repeatedly replacing and do not seem to be comfortable with is of WB's per capita NSDP for 2017-18 and has been submitted by West Bengal's state government to Government of India's Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MOSPI). We won't use WB's per capita GSDP on an all India state list article where for all other states and UTs per capita NSDP figures have been mentioned. For further details, check this post on the discussion page of the article. Vibhss (talk) 06:16, 17 December 2018 (UTC)

Indian states and union territories by GDP per capita

Hi. Could you keep an eye on this article? Vyomtripathi (talk · contribs) is disruptively editing this article and they claim they will continue to edit war with multiple accounts. The history section was poorly written like a school essay and they are hell bound in adding this back. Despite addition of sources in their edits, most of the content are not even present in the sources. I will keep an eye on this, but request you as well to keep an eye.  LeoFrank  Talk 14:54, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
