Hello, Verity.todd, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Greenwich dance, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may not be retained.

The article Greenwich dance has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of importance, fails GNG, sources point only to main site of subject or associates

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Okay, I may not have everything, but here's a list that I could come up with:
  1. The article is an orphan, meaning that no other pages link to it. Consider finding other articles that can link to this page, then check out Special:WhatLinksHere/Greenwich Dance to verify that the page is not in fact or no longer orphaned.
  2. All of the mentioned sources link to the main site or at least somewhat associated links. As per Wikipedia's sourcing policy, sources should be verifiable, reliable, and third-party; in other words, they should be independent of the subject. Consider doing Google searches to find other sources.
  1. The article must credibly indicate the importance of the subject, specifically, why it's significant for an encyclopedia. Certain topics of pages that do not meet this policy are eligible for deletion under criterion A7.
  2. Lastly, the article appears more like an advertisement in at least a part of its content. All articles, regardless of subject, must be written in an encyclopedic prose, and any article that doesn't meet this policy qualifies for deletion under criterion G11.
It's a start, but hopefully this at least somewhat helps you. Thank you and keep on contributing. ToThAc (talk) 18:43, 23 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
