Copyright violation on Oscar Elías Biscet
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.
Feel free to re-submit a new version of the article. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later."
You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here. You can also leave a message on my talk page.

Don't blank your user talkpage
[edit]Blanking your usertalk page, especially so shortly after having received warnings, is considered vandalism. Please don't do it. If more then a month has passed, you could decide to WP:ARCHIVE your user talkpage instead. TheDJ (talk • contribs • WikiProject Television) 22:11, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
- copyright violations are taken very seriously, and the messages are standard messages that everyone receives in such a case. And only your User:Verb0s page is your own page, your User talk:Verb0s page is intended for discussion WITH you. As such it's a page that is shared by all the people you talk with. That's why it is suggested you archive it. Any form of blanking a page is considered to be vandalism btw. Don't be worried, you are not blocked after one warning. As a general rule. just don't remove large sections of text from ANY page :D -- TheDJ (talk • contribs • WikiProject Television) 22:20, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
- Also when you leave a message, you can use ~~~~ to sign your message with your name. that will save people the effort of having to look trough the history of a page to make sure who made the comment. Especially on other Talk pages that is important. Happy wiki-editing and good luck. TheDJ (talk • contribs • WikiProject Television) 22:24, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
License tagging for Image:12380221 l.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:12380221 l.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Image tagging for Image:Oscar_Elias_Biscet04.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Oscar_Elias_Biscet04.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Oscar Elias Biscet
[edit]Hi, I saw that you changed the Cuba portal's featured biography... I looked at the article and it's not very encyclopediac - it looks more like a conduit for Mr. Biscet's thoughts, via his letters to the Cuban people and the section on "his thoughts." I checked out the article's history and it looks like Mr. Biscet's "letters" and "thoughts" were added by you the other day. Upon investigating further, I learned the writings are accessible via links at the bottom of the page. So, I edited the article. Dr Biscet's writings are available off of Wikipedia and I tried to make it as conspicuous as possible so that interested persons can read them. -- takethemud 07:11, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
Wikiproject Cuba
[edit]Hey Verb0s, to join Wikiproject Cuba go to Wikipedia:WikiProject Cuba, scroll down to "participants" and then add your name and the date in there. Then, you're in. You can join any wikiproject in the same fashion. But the important thing is to participate in the project. Create new articles and edit existing ones. You said you were a University student - your college might make academic journals available to you online free of charge - they might do it through a database - if they do, check JSTOR out or HAPI (HAPI has a lot of spanish-language stuff, so if you can read them, that's great). If you can get into these journals, they are a great source of information and by editing wikipedia using them, you can make some outstanding contributions. Make sure you include citations to information you add in your citations properly. Best of luck to you, I'll see you around the articles... --takethemud 03:41, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

File source problem with File:Cell biscet 140.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Cell biscet 140.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 21:38, 28 April 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Bkell (talk) 21:38, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
