Appearance
(Redirected from User talk:VeinorBot)
This user account is a bot operated by Veinor (talk). It is used to make repetitive automated or semi-automated edits that would be extremely tedious to do manually, in accordance with the bot policy. This bot does not yet have the approval of the community, or approval has been withdrawn or expired, and therefore shouldn't be making edits that appear to be unassisted except in the operator's or its own user and user talk space. Administrators: if this bot is making edits that appear to be unassisted to pages not in the operator's or its own userspace, please block it. |

VeinorBot is a spam log-parsing bot running on the toolserver maintained by User:Veinor that:
- Takes the logs from #wikipedia-en-spam on the freenode IRC chat and parse them to see how many times a given domain was added. VeinorBot then puts that information on, for example, User:Veinor/Link count/February 25, 2007 for the February 25, 2007 logs.
As of February 22, 2007, log addition is fully automated. The next step is to sit in #wikipedia-en-spam and watch the chat so VeinorBot can update as soon as the day is over
Internals
[edit]VeinorBot is written in Perl using perlwikipedia, and will use POE when I get around to implementing an IRC interface.
