Missamma (soundtrack) copyedit
Hello, Veera Narayana. This is a courtesy notice that the copy edit you requested for Missamma (soundtrack) at the Guild of Copy Editors requests page is now complete. All feedback welcome! Good luck with GA and all the best, Miniapolis 18:12, 21 February 2019 (UTC) |
Old Telugu reviews
I'd like it if you added reviews for Telugu films. You can find them here. Since the list is too long, just start with films you took to GA. --Kailash29792 (talk) 04:06, 6 March 2019 (UTC)

Bhakta Prahlada (1967 film)
Bhakta Prahlada is a tri-lingual film produced by AVM simultaneously in Telugu (12.01.1967), Tamil (24.03.1967) and also in Hindi. I added the Tamil song list (with citation) and the Tamil poster for the Tamil version. In the preamble of the article itself it is said the film was made in Tamil and Hindi also. But you have removed my hard work saying it is not a bilingual film. I think you have not read the article written previously by others. Even then, you should have discussed in the article's talk page before removing a major portion of the article. I have restored the removed content. Please do not make haphazard editing. Thank you for your understanding.--UKSharma3 (User | talk | Contribs) 11:41, 22 April 2019 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) I must agree with Uksharma3 on this. Although Bhakta Prahlada was primarily a Telugu film, the Tamil and Hindi "dubbed" versions are actually partially re-shot versions. When you find the tracklist for the Hindi version, please add it to the soundtrack section. --Kailash29792 (talk) 11:51, 22 April 2019 (UTC)
- @Uksharma3 and Kailash29792: Very sad. Very very sad state of affairs. I am absolutely sorry for what i have done to you, dear gentlemen. Trust me, i never intended to disrupt anyone's work here. Now, i feel as sad as Lord Narasimha himself, who had to kill his beloved Jaya who was in the form of Hiranyakashipu. Narasimha gave Hiranyakashipu moksha then, now i will. Bhaktha Prahlada is entirely yours now, develop it wholeheartedly. I'll focus on some other underdeveloped Telugu film article. My best wishes and Narasimha's blessings are always with you both (if you believe in them). Kind regards, Veera Narayana 21:39, 22 April 2019 (UTC)
- I hope this isn't a euphemism for "I'm not taking this to GA anymore". The article looks great IMO, just you need to convert the Tamil tracklist format. Kailash29792 (talk) 23:54, 22 April 2019 (UTC)
- Yes, it is an euphemism. Had to respect WP:CIVIL. They don't read what the sources say, they don't care what WP:NFCC says, and just jump on to do what they think is right. Above all, when i quote a valid reason as to why remove the file, they call my editing haphazard and that i am harming their hardwork. Rather than picking up a row, i am throwing Bhaktha Prahlada to the winds. Why should i care about that article now, when one owns nothing here at Wikipedia. I am done and shall focus on something else. Thank you. Regards, Veera Narayana 06:49, 23 April 2019 (UTC)

- I've addressed most of your comments. Please strike out them. --Kailash29792 (talk) 04:39, 21 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Kailash29792: Done. BTW, after going through the article, i do strongly feel that Chettiar would make a very entertaining villain if the making of MM were made into a masala film, with Mahendran and Rajinikanth being the misunderstood underdogs. Veera Narayana 05:39, 21 August 2019 (UTC)
- I don't think I can rewrite to portray Chettiar as less villainy. If he were still alive, he would certainly object to Mahendran's comments on him and write a contradictory story akin to what Muktha Srinivasan did. Perhaps we could add "According to Mahendran" before the sentence "Chettiar held up production", that good? What other statement needs rephrasing? --Kailash29792 (talk) 13:45, 22 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Kailash29792 and Ssven2: You can. Chettiar and Mahendran had contrasting views on the film's treatment; Chettiar not crediting himself as a producer and being puzzled at the less dialogue itself say that they were not on the same page. If that holding up production thing was due to creative differences, mention it. That would reduce the negativity. Sample this: "...and would have shelved the film had he known about Mahendran's filmmaking style" -- Why don't you say that Chettiar was expecting a dialogue heavy film there itself? It would have given a clear stand about both. Thereby Chettiar would not remain as a plain cynic. Rethink and decide what to do. I am willing to wait. Anything to say, Ssven2? Veera Narayana 15:34, 22 August 2019 (UTC)
- I re-checked the source and it reads, "my producer was not happy with the budget of Mullum Malarum and he asked me to release the film without a scene, which must come before the ‘Senthalam Poovil’ song". So here's a suggested wording: According to Mahendran, Chettiar felt the film's budget escalated and he refused to finance a scene set before the song "Senthazham Poovil", demanding to release the film without that scene. Since this appears to be your only remaining FAC comment, I'll wait for Ssven's reply. --Kailash29792 (talk) 16:10, 22 August 2019 (UTC)
- Your wording looks good, Kailash29792. As long as the negativity is toned down, it seems fine. You can proceed with it (if you already haven't). Veera also seems to have put up some good pointers in there. See if you can implement them (if they are supported by references). — Ssven2 Looking at you, kid 18:06, 22 August 2019 (UTC)
- Kailash, everything is fine but i personally feel that a copy-edit would improve the article and thereby can help you resolve Fowler's issues. Not necessarily through GOCE, but by someone who is unaware of this subject and has not commented at FAC this time. And, Ssven2, calling me Veera would be more appropriate. Thank you. Did the film release on Sankranthi? Is that when 13 January 2016 was? Then this poster should be good to use. --Kailash29792 (talk) 11:04, 3 September 2019 (UTC)
- @Kailash29792: Well the film was promoted as a Sankranthi release. That year, Sankranthi came on 14th. If you wish to update the poster, i'm fine with it. Veera Narayana 11:32, 7 September 2019 (UTC)

Poovellam Un Vasam
Dear Veera,
Nice jobs on adding poster to films as you did to Aaro Pranam. Can you kindly add a poster to Ajith's Poovellam Un Vasam . The film was commercially successful and Ajith won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award Special Prize for his work in this film. Thank you for your time.

- Thanks for the message and appreciation. However, i cannot read and write Tamil, or for that mater any South Indian language other than Telugu. Kailash29792 may help you in this case. He is far more enthusiastic that me when it comes to collecting old film posters for use in Wikipedia. Veera Narayana 10:18, 2 November 2019 (UTC)
Naa Oopiri
Veera, can you kindly add a poster for Naa Oopiri. The film received a Nandi award. --DragoMynaa

- Guru Sishyan works for me, was a bit goofy all the time. Something was always off about the film, which i liked. I will attend the FAC this evening. Veera Narayana 06:05, 7 December 2019 (UTC)
