Hi there, good to see somebody working on this article. However, I'm puzzled why you think this wasn't right. I can't think of any organism that has an oxidizing cytosol - a reducing intracellular environment is universal in all forms of life I can think of. Tim Vickers (talk) 21:17, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
- All true, naturally. As far as it goes. Unfortunately, it begs the point and is a little simplistic way to describe a rather complicated process. E.g., while important, glutathione is only a part of the tissue antioxidant defense. Likewise, it is true that the cytosol is essentially always reducing. However, this is only peripherally-related to oxidative stress per se, which involves multiple mechanisms, many actually messenger-mediated. 21:24, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
