Most editors follow WP:BRD. It's fine to boldly add something. If someone else reverts you, however, you must go to the talk page and discuss it, and not re-add it until there is consensus to do so. Now, I considered re-removing the whole thing, but decided a compromise solution might be better--keeping the popular reference, but not actually expounding on the theory. Please do not re-add that information until you obtain consensus on the talk page; simply reverting to your preferred version is edit warring and isn't allowed.
