Reply Jean Townsend

[edit]

Hi Vanarkadie001i, I noticed your post on Avs5221's talk page. I actually put Jean Towsend on hold. The article is good but a few things need fixing.

  1. The article needs the exact newspaper date.
  2. The sources then needed to be cited. Information on how to do this can be found at Wikipedia:Cite.
  3. This article is more about the court case so it may also be better to change the title or add information about the person (you cannot change titles until a account is four days old and has 10 or more edits but I can do this for you if you would like)

After those things are fixed it should be accepted. If you have anymore questions please ask me on my talk page If you would like to get help fast simply copy the text below. Then paste it on this page and write your question right after the pasted text. Within a hour (most of the time) someone will have responded to your question and written their response here. --Alpha Quadrant (talk) 21:29, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Help me please!

[edit]

Hi Vanarkadie001i! I'm sorry that this article creation experience is not exactly easy for you. For your submission to be accepted, you'll have to make sure it is better sourced with reliable sources. The Jean Townsend submission only has 1 source and since the subject is a murder victim, you'll need more sources for the various statements. If you can get 2 or 3 more sources, it should be fine. Also, if possible, it'll help if you can specify the exact pages in your pdf file source. You can use Template:Citation to help you. If you have anymore questions, please feel free to leave them on my talk page. Happy editing, BejinhanTalk 14:04, 19 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome and introduction

[edit]

Hi, Vanarkadie001i. This is NOT some automated message...it's from a real person. You can talk to me right now. Welcome to Wikipedia! I noticed you've just joined, and wanted to give you a few tips to get you started. If you have any questions, please talk to us. The tips below should help you to get started. Best of luck! My76Strat (talk) 21:23, 20 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

ようこそ
  • You don't need to read anything - anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people.
  • Ask for help. Talk to us live, or edit this page, put {{helpme}} and describe what help you need. Someone will reply very quickly - usually within a few minutes.
  • Edit existing articles, before you make your own. Look at some subjects that you know about, and see if you can make them a bit better. For example, Wikipedia:Cleanup#2009.
  • When you're ready, read about Your first article. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references.

Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page.

There's lots of information below. Once again, welcome to the fantastic world of Wikipedia!

Hello Vanarkadie001i, Thanks for your interest in the article Jean Towsend. I posted some helpful guidance to your talkpage which may be useful in your endeavors. Currently your AFC is a single section of continues prose. It is better to present such a biography in sections with a lead that summarizes the content and establishes the notability up front. An infobox is also a helpful inclusion and if an image is available, this as well. Break the content into sections and wikify links when appropriate. Review other articles which may be similar for ideas on structure and preview some of the guidance available in the welcome section which all may be helpful. All of this should help to ultimately have the article published. If I can be of assistance please ask or visit the IRC channel for real time help. Thanks and happy editing. My76Strat (talk) 21:40, 20 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I went ahead and fixed a few of the issues you mentioned. Because the victim does not seem to have been particularly notable, it may be an idea to make the article be about the murder - that is, changing the title to Murder of Jean Townsend or somesuch, in which case the introduction would have to be slightly modified. Regards, decltype (talk) 22:51, 20 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to add that I concur with Decltype that it may be easier to write this as an article about the unsolved murder opposed to a biography about the victim. But I suppose either case is possible so it is your choice. Cheers.My76Strat (talk) 00:40, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for submitting an article to Wikipedia. Your submission has been reviewed and has been put on hold pending clarification or improvements from you or other editors. Please take a look and respond if possible. You can find it at Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Jean Townsend. If there is no response within twenty-four hours the request may be declined; if this happens feel free to continue to work on the article. You can resubmit it (by adding the text {{subst:AFC submission/submit}} to the top of the article) when you believe the concerns have been addressed. Thank you. Re:my article

[edit]

Hey! I see that a 3rd reviewer has put your article on hold. There is no appeal system for AfC. What you can do is put up the submission template again, something that you did, and another reviewer will come along and access your submission. Your article has improved a lot since I last viewed it. Good job! My76Strat is currently reviewing your article, so I'd rather not come into it now(like take over the review). But if you have any questions about editing and such, please don't hesitate to ask. Happy editing, BejinhanTalk 05:10, 21 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article RAF Rudloe Manor, please cite a reliable source for the content of your edit. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. See Wikipedia:Citing sources for how to cite sources, and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Dougweller (talk) 15:20, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I was one of the users who have removed your addition to the article. Please note Wikipedia's core principle of verifiability, everything has to be sourced to a reliable source. Wikipedia is not the place for UFO discussions or for documenting conspiracy theories. Please see the talkpage (found at Talk:RAF Rudloe Manor‎) for previous discussions surrounding Rudloe Manor. If you have any questions you can leave them at the talkpage or on my own talkpage (found at User talk:Woody). Thanks, Woody (talk) 15:30, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Wormhoudt massacre, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages NCO, Judge Advocate General and CSM (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
