Second preferences
[edit]Interesting that "move Republic of Ireland to Ireland (state)", so long the flagship of anti-ROI editors, is now almost exclusively the second preference of the Pro-ROI voters! Scolaire (talk) 21:17, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
- There are some weird preferences all over the place. Option D only has one first preference vote but no less than 17 second preferences! Valenciano (talk) 21:37, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
Eliminations
[edit]Hope you don't mind, I added an 'X' into the table to show on which round an option gets eliminated. BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ! 18:22, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
Is a final two viable?
[edit]At the moment we get a final three - does your software allow for a further redistribution to show the preference between the final two? Timrollpickering (talk) 12:57, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
- After 115 votes we get a final three of F 56 votes, C 29, E 27, NTV 3. A further count would produce F 64 votes, C 45 votes, NTV 6. Valenciano (talk) 21:52, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
Strikethrough votes?
[edit]Can you indicate whether or not you're counting them? Thanks, BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ! 11:09, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
Confused
[edit]On the current notional fourth & fifth counts, shouldn't it be E that gets eliminated before B? Timrollpickering (talk) 13:32, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
- It's true that B was ahead of E at the second round however that was only because A was eliminated first - if D had been eliminated first then the situation would have been different. If you think about it, the relative popularity of E and B is entirely independent of the popularity of A and D so that's not a consideration. In the event of a tie, to measure relative popularity, I counted overall second preferences E had 34, B had 9. Unfortunately no mechanism was agreed before the vote to deal with such cases.
