If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Luxriot, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Gurt Posh (talk) 09:51, 19 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended or used for publicity and/or promotional purposes. Please read the following carefully.

Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, celebrity or other well-known individual, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not. See WP:FAQ/Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, or organization. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

What can I do now?

You are still welcome to write about something other than your company or organization. If you do intend to make useful contributions on some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, please see how to appeal a block.

Requested username:

Request reason:

Willing to update username to conform with rules

Decline reason:

Nothing you have said so far suggests you expect to do anything other than edit in an area where you have a conflict of interest. If you wish to make another unblock request then I suggest addressing the issues raised in the messages below. JamesBWatson (talk) 12:48, 22 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Read WP:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide. A username change will not absolve you of a conflict of interest. —Jeremy v^_^v Components:V S M 09:00, 22 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

We are not looking for promotion and will rebuild article to be as neutral as you see appropriate, perhaps leaving just info on software purpose, as well as general info (software infobox) and bit of historical background. Perhaps a screenshot as well. Would be nice if some pre-modetarion is possible to avoid multiple create/delete.

Can you explain how the software meets notability guidelines? This is not a product/business directory, it's an encyclopedia (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 10:39, 22 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I see your point. Unfortunately there are no fine 3rd party reviews in trusted sources at the moment, which is partially a reason to add information about software here. Software is well known in professional field of digital video surveillance (which is a valid notability reason according to russian program notability page). There are also pages on wikipedia that mention our software. Turns out rather specific software that is out of scope of trused reviewers cannot have an article, unless it is popular with masses (and will not be, due to software specifications)? Please excuse my ignorance posting premature article - rules applied go quite deeper i could imagine. Please advice if there is possibility of creating a page for our software -- Luxriot.V (talk) 13:35, 22 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Note that, except for WP:NPOV, no two Wikipediae are going to be identical policywise due to cultural differences. What passes for OK on one Wikipedia isn't necessarily allowed on another. —Jeremy v^_^v Components:V S M 05:18, 23 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I see, thank you. As for declining username change - i am not willing to edit page that will get deleted anyway (where is sence in that?) - instead i would prefer having a conversation using a valid username to better understand prerequisites for given article creation and to communicate with administration if and when prerequisites are met, for pre-moderation of an article. Please either update username or delete account, as i would not like to continue using username that violates rules. -- Luxriot.V (talk) 06:21, 23 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Review please

Accept reason:

Allowing username change to requested username. Please put this request in at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. If I have understood you correctly, you are willing to write a draft version of the article and have it assessed before launching it as an article. You are welcome to do that: User:Vadim Mihaly4/Luxriot would probably be a good place to do it. However, I suggest you look at the notability guidelines first, if you have not already done so. I don't know whether your software satisfies those guidelines or not, and if it doesn't then there is a likelihood that any article on it will be deleted, so it is worth having at least a reasonable idea of what sort of evidence is needed to show notability. You may also find Wikipedia:Notability (software) useful. That page is just the opinion of the editors who wrote it, not an official guideline or policy, but it may give you some idea of what at least some Wikipedia editors think on the subject.
