{{unblock-un|Redron85}} {{unblock-un|I see the request is on hold, I just wanted to make sure that there wasn't anything further I needed to provide. Thanks again}}
- Don't worry; there isn't. Jackmcbarn (talk) 21:40, 12 November 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks Jackmcbarn, so how do I officially change the username? I made an edit to the page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voluntary_Protection_Programs_Participants'_Association but the edit shows under VPPPA and also my username still shows VPPPA. Let me know I need to make this change or this change syncs up soon. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by VPPPA (talk • contribs) 15:05, 14 November 2014 (UTC)
- Go to WP:CHU and follow the directions there. Also, if you plan to continue editing that article, make sure you pay close attention to WP:PSCOI, because if your edits seem overly promotional, another administrator will likely re-block you. Jackmcbarn (talk) 15:07, 14 November 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks Jackmcbarn. Sorry to be a pain, but I'm totally lost on how to actually change it. I'm not seeing clear instructions at WP:CHU. I want to make sure we are in compliance before making another edit. Where do I actually go and what is the actual statement or code I need state so that the username shows as Redron85?
- There's very clear instructions at Wikipedia:Changing username/Simple. After you follow them, someone will rename your account shortly.
- Thanks Jackmcbarn. I've put in the request and will check to make sure the change takes place. Thanks for your help

Conflict of interest
[edit]If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:
- editing articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
- participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
- linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam);
- and you must always:
- avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially neutral point of view, verifiability, and autobiography.
For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Business' FAQ. For more details about what constitutes a conflict of interest, please see Wikipedia:Conflict of Interest. Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 16:03, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
- This is often not a reflection on the user, and you are encouraged to choose a new account name which does meet our guidelines and are invited to contribute to Wikipedia under an appropriate username. If you feel this block was made in error, you may quickly and easily appeal it - see below.
Our username policy provides guidance on selecting your username. In brief, usernames should not be offensive, disruptive, promotional, related to a 'real-world' group or organization, confusing, or misleading.
If you have already made edits and wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name you may request a change in username which is quick and easy. To do so, please follow these directions:
- Add {{unblock-un|your new username here}} below. This is possible because even when you are blocked, you can still edit your own talk page.
- At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
- Please note, you may only request a name that is not already in use. The account is created upon acceptance – do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change since we can far easier allocate your new name to you, if it is not yet used. Usernames that have already been taken are listed here. For more information, please visit Wikipedia:Changing username.

Unblock
[edit]{unblock-un|your new username here}
Can you unblock my username?
- Re-read the instructions, please. You must choose a new name. Consider just starting a new account, it's easier. Sandstein (talk) 18:31, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
