[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:CaroleMigden_2007_from_her_website.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast 18:51, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for adding Senator Yee to caption
[edit]I never had time to find out who that was. Nobody I asked that day knew. Shows you how little people know these days. Sorry that those fair use images were deleted.--Amadscientist 01:06, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on Calitics requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Mizu onna sango15/水女珊瑚15 00:34, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
My responce:I noticed that Calitics was marked for "speedy deletion". However, several other similar websites from other states across America currently have entries. The site is the largest activist blog in the largest state (over 37 million people) in the United States. I feel comfortable that this is worthy of entry. For other examples, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Political_weblogs Utbriancl (talk) 01:44, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
- In that case, please add good, reliable secondary sources to verify that notability. This will not only assert the subject's notability, but prove it as well. :) Regards, Mizu onna sango15/水女珊瑚15 03:10, 9 May 2008 (UTC).
- There are reports in the entry from the San Francisco Chronicle, the leading newspaper in San Francisco, the Desert Sun, and the Chicago Sun-Times. I fail to see why other similar blogs are notable but Calitics is not. Furthermore, I fail to see the value of a "hold" tag if the content is just then immediately deleted anyway. Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Utbriancl! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to this article, it would greatly help us with the current 153 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
- Felipe Fuentes - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Fair use rationale for File:Alioto-pier.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Alioto-pier.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:04, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
Notification of automated file description generation
[edit]Your upload of File:Art torres.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.
This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks!
