Question?
[edit]I wonder what this means? The Real Libs-speak politely 14:00, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
- Never mind... figured it out. Caught me strange at first because we are listed along with Greg D. Barnes who I just assisted recently(without knowing it :D ) in perma blocking because he was a major IP sock userpage-attack troll/Grawp wanna-be. Foo Fighters
[edit]Hey, I just wanted to apologise for being a stubborn ass regarding the Foo Fighters infobox. It's such a silly thing to edit war/argue over, and think that removing the field all together was a bold step to take. I was just wondering what you would find acceptable to be in the field if we did restore it? I assume 1995 - present is your preferred choice and you disagree with 1995 - 2008 (hiatus). What are your thoughts on 1995 - present (hiatus)? I understand that you feel the years active field is for when the band formed until when the band split up, however I think it is useful to show to people unfamiliar that the band is not currently active, (as in touring and recording) even though they have not split up. I just don't know how many people will read all the way to the end to find out the band is actually on a break. Also, I know that they took a break after each album, however I'm not sure these were comparable to the situation now... did they actually announce such breaks? Or did they just not do anything for a while? Afterall, Grohl actually said in his statement "We've never really taken a long break...". Anyway, sorry for my rambling, let me know what you think. Cheers Nouse4aname (talk) 10:32, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
- No worries. Not yet, thought I'd see what your opinion was first. Will post there now. Cheers Nouse4aname (talk) 11:23, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
thanks

Just to let you know
[edit]I'm supporting a cleaned-up consensus of the genre removal thing. I was simply asking other users, notably the respected ones, to assist me in reverting the removal of the genre field text. More importantly, I stated that I stopped taking edit action unless I have supporters and I have no intention to get in a one on one edit war. I would appretiate if you would support actually, or at least tell Libs as he respects you. So I don't mean any harm, k? :) Angry Shoplifter (talk) 19:11, 11 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Thanks for the heads up on my talkpage. I have to say that, after an admittedly brief review, the most recent edits haven't been too bad. Can you point me to where there is a change of genre? If they are just adding <br>eak codes or "American" to articles then I think that they may have learned their lesson and are just doing good faith stuff... Of course, if I have missed the sneaky genre change then please give me a diff at my talkpage and I shall take action. LessHeard vanU (talk) 23:55, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
- I blocked for one week. I wish they would use the talkpages, they do do some okay edits and if they just talked and took the opinion of others then I wouldn't need to keep slapping them with the banhammer... LessHeard vanU (talk) 00:13, 12 October 2008 (UTC)
Did you get what I said?

Reversions
[edit]I undid your reversion of the edits made by Tofusando as it seemed they were made in good faith and were applicable. If this turns out to be in error please feel free to revert my change and let me know what I may have missed. LeilaniLad (talk) 21:45, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
- Actually you appear to be making bad reverts. The one you made on Secret (2007 film) reintroduced a misspelled word. Please be cautious in what you are reverting. LeilaniLad (talk) 21:49, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
- Regarding the edits by Tofusando: He is a sock of a blocked user (See User:Angry Shoplifter). We do not allow them to edit under any circumstances. I do apologise for any "bad reverts" I may have made. I will go through my revisions and check/correct any errors. Thanks for bringing this to my attention! :-) Utan Vax (talk) 22:19, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you for your kind response. I would like to compliment you on your civility as well. Working on vandalism patrol can skew your world view into having a preformed expectation that any feedback offered about an edit will be responded to with anger or callous defensiveness. I just wanted to let you know how much something as simple as the polite and friendly tone of your response can improve a editor's day. Thank you. LeilaniLad (talk) 15:42, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hi. I was wondering if you would be interested in contributing articles to Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic)? It needs contributors to increase diversity of content from different countries and bring about large scale improvements. The idea at some point will be to host a National Contest related to your country of interest. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:15, 21 September 2016 (UTC)
Europe 10,000 Challenge invite
[edit]Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:10, 7 November 2016 (UTC)
