Constructive? Wikipedia is a joke, most of the articles have huge bias now and leftists coordinate to block changes after they make biased articles. This have become a huge problem and I don't see anyone trying to address it. Why should I care about being constructive when Wikipedia has become rotten? Let's all play the same game. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.22.215.216 (talk) 19:22, 1 December 2019 (UTC)

Hello. I assume the edit you are referring to is this. If you want to add information about a news organization's bias to an article, you must cite reliable sources. Otherwise, anyone could say whatever they want about an organization simply because they dislike it. userdude 21:54, 1 December 2019 (UTC)

Semi protection?

Want me to semi protect this page at all? EvergreenFir (talk) 05:10, 5 December 2019 (UTC)

Thanks, but no. I want to be open in case an IP user wants to contact me. I'm sure our friend will run out of IPs eventually. userdude 05:13, 5 December 2019 (UTC)
Roger that. We can only hope! EvergreenFir (talk) 05:19, 5 December 2019 (UTC)

Chanab Nagar

there is no city in Pakistan by the name Rabwah. The name has been changed to Chanab Nager decades ago. The corrections were made to make the article factual. If you are afraid of accepting facts, go ahead and undo. wish you can see the true light and return to the True Path

I will not undo your edits to avoid edit warring. Please refer the consensus of multiple discussions on the article's talk page. userdude 08:32, 11 December 2019 (UTC)
Then I will undo it. As soon as you start pushing "Qadiani" to refer to the general topic of Ahmadi Muslims, you fail WP:NPOV by using wikipedia's voice to make an ethnic slur. Can't let that stand as a default while someone attempts to overturn those multiple talkpage-consensus results. DMacks (talk) 09:19, 11 December 2019 (UTC)

Sorry

Hello I was the one who made the edit to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose: The Forgotten Hero. I knew the information was wrong and removed it after I found no information supporting it, but reverted my edit after I saw my IP was shown and feared repercussion also due to the fact that I could not state why the information was removed. I was in no way trying to commit vandalism, Apologies and Thanks!— Preceding unsigned comment added by {} (talk • contribs)

RE Oliver Typewriter Page

The sentence which I removed is an incorrect fact, and the source material is inaccessible and therefore invalid. This sentence must be removed and not added back. Elcobba or whatever that fella's name is has been a real hinderance to this article's integrity. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.171.17.150 (talk) 04:39, 6 December 2019 (UTC)

Hello. I apologize for removing your edit. In the future, it would be helpful to explain your edits in your edit summary. Alternatively, you can also discuss the article, including dead links, in its talk page. userdude 04:49, 6 December 2019 (UTC)
Hi. It looks like someone else had the same problem with the article you have, four years ago. I encourage you to participate in that discussion. userdude 04:54, 6 December 2019 (UTC)

For asshats like that, be sure to report the diffs for REVDEL or oversight. Quickest way is usually to email the oversight team. Thanks for reporting that user straight away. EvergreenFir (talk) 06:57, 20 December 2019 (UTC)

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Draft:NimbRo a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge.

If you want to review and accept/decline new drafts, apply at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Articles for creation/Participants. Cabayi (talk) 06:45, 1 January 2020 (UTC)

Thanks! userdude 07:00, 1 January 2020 (UTC)
Given that the page was created by a user also called NimbRo with an obvious conflict of interest, I'd feel more comfortable if you updated the text in Draft:NimbRo with your version and then let an experienced reviewer take a look and promote it to mainspace. Hope that helps, Cabayi (talk) 07:08, 1 January 2020 (UTC)
@Cabayi: I'm aware of the editor's COI, but I checked all the links and they passed verification. It's also a translation from the existing page on the German Wikipedia. userdude 07:17, 1 January 2020 (UTC)

Umaga (wrestler)

Hi userdude my name is Bronwyn. I know Umaga's birthdate as I asked him when we met in 2007 at a WWE live taping and autograph session. He was nice and simply stated that his birth year was 1972 not 1973. I can't ask him again as he isn't alive anymore and how do you ask a dead body questions like this. Cheers, Bronwyn — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rebel Heart Sapphire (talkcontribs) 09:40, 6 April 2020 (UTC)

@Rebel Heart Sapphire: Hello. Thank you for your contribution, but one of Wikipedia's most important rules is verifiability. This means readers have to be able to check a source themselves and verify that content is accurate. Part of this rule is that Wikipedia articles must not contain original research, because others have no way to verify your research. Asking the subject of an article their birthday counts as original research.
If you find a reliable source stating Umaga's birthday, you are more than welcome to add it. Cheers, userdude 17:55, 6 April 2020 (UTC)

FSHS article edits

Hi, I'm new to wikipedia so I don't know quite how this works, but hopefully this is how I do it. I edited the FSHS page to include information about some school traditions and a failed SRC political party, but my alterations were removed for a lack of citations. I understand that citations are important, however, I am an alumni of the school, and the information I uploaded is an aspect of school lore, and so is not actually officially documented anywhere else. I don't know how I can prove my credentials without doxing myself, but I would appreciate it if you would reinstate the edit as I can assure that the information is correct (I am an eyewitness and primary source). I would appreciate it if you could revert the changes, especially considering that other aspects of "school traditions" also don't seem to have any citations. Thank you for the work you do in upkeeping wikipiedia standards, Chef Marcell123 (talk) 08:31, 20 May 2020 (UTC)

@Chef Marcell123: Hello. Thank you for putting effort into improving the Fort Street High School article. One of the core pillars of Wikipedia is verifiability. It is crucial to the function of the encyclopedia. I trust that you are not lying in your addition to the article, but in order for readers to be able to trust Wikipedia, they must be able to check the source of content and verify it themselves. Otherwise, anyone could claim authority on any subject and add whatever content they want regardless of accuracy. The lead of the article Wikipedia:Verifiability gives a concise explanation of verifiability.
In order for any content to be included on Wikipedia, it must be based on published reliable source(s). No original research is allowed. As such, I cannot restore your content and I advise against you restoring it yourself, as someone else will just revert it again. However, I encourage you to try to find a published reliable source (such as a local paper) about FSPP or FLOP and cite that. userdude 08:46, 20 May 2020 (UTC)
