Wellington University logos

I understand that you are trying to "update" the logo(s), but there are two problems with what you are doing:

First of all, https://www.victoria.ac.nz/our-identity says "the new visual identity we are developing" and https://www.victoria.ac.nz/students/brand-refresh says "The University’s brand refresh will see ... a new Māori name of Te Herenga Waka, which will replace" - so the new identity is apparently neither complete, nor in use yet - indeed the website uses the svg version I placed in the article. We are an encyclopedia, we show what is in use, not what is "being developed". When the new identity is in use then we can rightly update our usage.
Secondly, WP:NFC allows for very limited use of non-free images - one image in the infobox is generally all that is justified for identification purposes. To justify an additional non-free image you would need need reliably sourced third party commentary specifically concerning the extra logo and it's visual appearance in the article. Just adding a caption or a brief mention isn't enough. In other words, you need to find reliable sources which discuss the logo and it's visual appearance in the context of the subject of the article, in sufficient depth that give it context and significance, enough that the reader would be disadvantaged by not having visual context for the image. If you think you can find that, let me know, and I might be able to help you construct something. It would need to be content that would not be considered WP:UNDUE, from independent reliable sources, and which consensus would agree is significant enough that the text should be included in the article regardless of whether the image is, not just something tangentially related used to "shoehorn" the image in.
Finally, once any new logo actually comes into use we would much prefer an SVG version, for quality. Once it is in use, if you are having difficulty finding an svg version, or formatting it to comply with our NFC requirements, please let me know, and I'll be happy to try and help. Often SVGs can be extracted from website HTML code, or from PDF documents when they are not immediately apparent. -- Begoon 04:36, 18 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
