Help request for review of Anael
[edit]I am near to completing this article for Anael (again). And I am willing to do whatever it takes to get this entry into the Wikipedia. Please look it over (it is in my sandbox) and let me know what's wrong with it. I am sure there is probably plenty for me to work on. :) Please feel free to comment extensively. Quality and viability matter a great deal to me.
- Hi there! I will take a look at the article, and provide feedback here very soon. In the meantime, I've removed the helpme thing, so that others don't duplicate the efforts.
- Gosh, there a lot of those 'images removed' warnings on this page :-) I'm guessing you probably know now why they were removed - ie non-free images can only be used on live articles, and if they're not used they get deleted? If you do understand that, feel free to edit this page and delete all of those notifications.
:So - expect a reply here, within about 30 minutes. Cheers! Chzz ► 20:26, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
Thanks! I appreciate it so much! I didn't know I could remove all those warnings - I thought a running log had to remain. I'm glad. They irritated me a lot. Yes, I did understand why they were deleted, and am in sometimes contact with the copyright holder of the pictures, so am ready to resubmit them as soon as I can get this article correct. I am almost certain I have a lot of work to do, but also hope that most of the article might be usable. :)
And thanks, too, for the info on the userboxes. I was looking at how others had set up their user pages, and couldn't figure out how all that cool stuff was accomplished. HAHA I initially learned coding by setting up my profile and group pages on MySpace, so I am a broken intermediate-novice at best. But I work hard at learning!
Again, thanks for your attention to the article!

Please Review Anael Article in My Sandbox!
[edit]Chizz was going to do so, but either the task is so large that he is writing a thesis on all that is wrong with it, or he got called away on other business. Would someone please look at the nearly-finished article in my sandbox and start to tell me all the things that are wrong with it, so that I can begin to fix them? LOL THANK YOU!!
Usagi Jeshika (talk) 18:05, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
- Oops, I'm so sorry. I had a problem with my computer, and forgot about coming back to this one.
- There are a number of problems with the article - regarding the tone and neutrality. It is too promotional. Some of it isn't from a neutral point-of-view, and uses peacock terms - things like, "Interesting, that - since her music could nearly be described as like a whisper of the Voice of God", "does not just sing her message, she also most definitely lives it", "Being so highly attuned to the subtle effects of energies", etc. Other parts sound like original research - such as, "is constantly leading her listeners towards greater healing, self-awareness, and deeper spiritual understanding", "Though several of her songs seem to embody a subtle sort of religious overtone quality, they do not endorse (nor exclude) any single religion or philosophy", and the para beginning "The basic message is simple:".
- I haven't checked the references, but I suspect that a large portion of the facts in the current article are not directly supported by references to WP:reliable sources, and are therefore not verifiable.
- If you want more opinions, I suggest asking on WP:FEED, or (perhaps after working on it a bit), WP:PR.
- Good luck, Chzz ► 18:22, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, Chizz. I half expected all that, so I'm not even going to whine about it. No, all of this information actually CAME from somewhere - liner notes of albums, interviews, reviews (all very painstakingly acquired and studied by me). But obviously, their 16 years of career just hasn't been enough to get enough mainstream media to make them as viable for this site as their fans would like. And I guess my writing style sucks, too. :)
I will most likely attempt to get it to a semblance of acceptability, unless you come back and tell me none of the references are any good, and then I guess I will just have to admit that I have hit a wall of sorts.
Thank you for taking the time to look it over. I appreciate your effort, anyway!!

Anael & Notability. This has been an interesting issue to address, as what they (she and her partner, Bradfield) are more known for amongst those who are actual fans is their 16 years of New Age music, not the oddball things that I think might actually qualify them for entry into the Wikipedia.
Anyway, this has been difficult to discover, and more so to find some sort of "official" website on which to verify it. Here goes, all the same:
Anael did the theme song to a very popular drama series in Korea called, "Sang Do". The theme of the show was a song called "Heart of Mine", found here: http://www.yesasia.com/us/1014445337-0-0-0-en/info.html (track 10 of the first disk). Also: http://www.hancinema.net/korean_drama_Sangdo.php
I have not yet found where to find any other production information of the song and the artist and composer. It is only from some mentions in interviews (largely on "fan sites" of Anael followers) that I even know about this song.
She also had two songs in another Korean production, "Callas", a movie that is now out of print. Those two songs were, "Come Again, I Believe" and "One Brief Dream", songs from her albums, "Unconditional" and "Once Upon a Dream", respectively. Here is a link to a fan site about the movie: http://kdramaqueen.blogspot.com/2008/06/calla-ost-download.html
Again, I do not know how to obtain "official" information about these songs' inclusion in these productions. That is where I hit my current snag. VERIFICATION - other than the listing of the songs on the credits found on fan pages.
HELP? :)

- Hello. Did you try the official Web site? http://www.apsismusic.com/2007/index.htm is the site I found. I also looked at allmusic.com. Hope that helps. -The New Mikemoral ♪♫ 19:49, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

I thought I understood that the material could NOT come from the website of the artist, themselves.
And what is the criteria to make these entries official - as in, what specific information needs to be provided about these songs and their inclusion in these programs?
Thanks! Usagi Jeshika (talk) 20:24, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit]OK. I think I am done again. Maybe. Please look over the article on Anael in my sandbox, and tell me what's wrong with it now. LOL
- When you leave messages, please remember to "sign" your name, by putting ~~~~ (four tilde signs) at the end. This will add your name, and the date and time.
- It still sounds like an advert; it is in no way neutral, e.g. "mindfully created", "energetic instruments", "enhancement of the greater human potential" etc. This is not encyclopedic material. See also WP:COI, WP:BFAQ Chzz ► 02:53, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
Review April 2010
[edit]Again, I am back to work on the ONE project ("Anael", the New Age music artist) in my sandbox, after a long absence. Just now beginning. I believe I have generally eliminated everything within the article that could be considered something less than a "FACT" of her career. Before I proceed further, I'd like someone to look at it and tell me what - if anything - is STILL wrong with it in its current form, before I put time into something that is ALREADY flawed. :)
Thank you!

- Hello again :-)
- I've copied this here; we do like to deal with the 'helpme' stuff on user talk pages, rather than the subpage, simply because it means things are in one place - your talk - and it will alert you to new messages on here.
- I will look over the article now (at a glance it does look much better) and respond here very soon. Best, Chzz ► 00:27, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, Chzz. :) Nice to see you again. Hope you are having a wonderful Spring! I will try to remember to keep this convo on this page - been a long time since I'd been back!
Usagi Jeshika (talk) 01:01, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
- Hm, I'm sorry, but I'm still not seeing 'significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject' - check user:chzz/vrs.
- Not sure about www.musicaldiscoveries.com - maybe a primary source? Is it really a WP:RS with a 'reputation for fact-checking and accuracy'? Her own website is certainly primary.
- Listings on Amazon and suchlike don't show the required coverage; sorry to be the bearer of bad-tidings here, but the policies mean that, if it was made live, it would very likely be deleted - for lack of notability.
- Let me know if I can help any further, best, Chzz ► 02:38, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
Absolutely no need to be sorry, Chzz! It's why I did the editing I did and asked the question - now you have again given me the basics I need to be gathering to complete the project! Lots better than trying to guess at it! So that's GOOD news, not bad. :)
Thanks again - and I will be back!
Usagi Jeshika (talk) 02:47, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
- OK - and if/when you do reply further, if you want to contact me, leave a message on my own talk page (even just a quick note to say 'please see my talk page') - because, if you just reply here, I probably won't notice it.
- You can always use another {{helpme}} to get any helper to come here, or you could talk to us live, with this - which is really good; please try it - pop in now and say hello. Chzz ► 03:02, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
