Most, but not all Glasgow/Edinburgh services go to Inverurie, however this IS the Aberdeen Crossrail service and a combination of services on two separate routes. Previous timetables form Edinburgh and Glasgow have shown Elgin, Inverness, Keith and Dyce as terminii of these services, but are part are on the Inverness line. Following your logic Kyle of Lochalsh line should be extended to Aberdeen as a train follows that route. You should recognise these services as Crossrail and create a template accordingly for that particular article. --Stewart (talk | edits) 20:01, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Inspection of the Glasgow timetable shows only one train currently starting from Inverurie at 07:14 (M-Sa) and none terminating at Inverurie, with another train terminating at Dyce from Glasgow at around 9am, and returning Glasgow. This is worse than the Class 47/7 push pull days when around 4 per day terminated at Dyce. --Stewart (talk | edits) 20:24, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have reverted you edits to the above article:-

  • The initial 47/7 + DBSO sets where formed of MkIII carriages. This led in latter years to the MkIII being converted to CO (half standard / half first). When the push-pull sets started to be used on the Aberdeen services, MkIId/e/f carriages were used in the formations. This was when another four Class 47/4 were converted to 47/7, and five more DBSO were converted. See this picture from RAILSCOT shoing MkIII in use.
  • Intercity regularly used HST between Edinburgh and GQS. They used Platform 7 and the power car and first carriage were off the end of the platform.
