February 2017

HI, Unicornbossking. I see you're a new Wikipedian, so first let me say welcome. WikiProject Comics (WPC) is a great community, and I and I'm sure the many great editors here look forward to responsible contributions.

I wanted to let you know, before you went to more trouble, that WPC character / storyline articles don't include the kind of of issue-by-issue bibliographies you've been adding, and which I and a number of other editors have removed. You can see the Project's Manual of Style and in particular the section WP:CMOS#LSECTION.

Take a look at some of the better articles, those marked with a gold star, such as Sinestro Corps War and others listed here. Hope this helps! And don't worry if if takes a little while to come up to speed — it took all of us here a little while to get through the learning curve. But it's a great project and worth the effort, I think! With regards, --Tenebrae (talk) 23:25, 9 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Text moved

[edit]

I moved the material you created at Category:List of Issues to User:Unicornbossking/listofissues because it didn't belong in a category. Categories are for indexing other articles, they typically have little text of their own beyond a brief explanatory note, see WP:Categorization. Also it's a terrible name for something in an encyclopedia with millions of articles - a list of issues of what? Or issues with what? It could have been anything. I appreciate your enthusiasm, but I'd suggest working with the guys at WP:WikiProject Comics - comics are something that have pretty good basic coverage on Wikipedia, so you want to avoid duplicating work that has already been done, but there's always things to do - see here for some examples.Le Deluge (talk) 01:29, 1 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I have proposed this article for deletion because the list is indiscriminate and impossible to complete or maintain. I encourage you to have a look around Wikipedia:WikiProject Comics to get an idea of how comic-based articles are structured. Here you can see comic articles that have been recognized for quality. Publication history of Marvel Comics crossover events maybe be an article you would be interested in. Some of the sources from your article may help improve it. Thanks for your contributions.
