I do not understand how you can give the article a weak keep to stay Eighty Years' War (1914-1995). This is 100% original research which is 100% forbidden in this encyclopedia. Please re-consider your vote. Thanks. Andries 21:13, 31 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

New stub template

[edit]

Hi. We over at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting have just discovered your new stub template {{State forest-stub}}. Normally, stub categories are created after a process of proposal and debate at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals, to ensure that they meet the requirements for a new stub category—such as not cutting across the current category hierarchy, having a viable number of stub articles (a mininmum of 60), and not being covered by any current categories. You appear to be on a state forest kick, so it's probably a good split. — Fingers-of-Pyrex 13:19, August 12, 2005 (UTC)

E. Poole

[edit]

_ _ Thanks for your contribution on List of people by name: El. I have moved her to List of people by name: Po, since she is likely to be sought under Poole, E. (and perhaps Pole, E.) but not under her given name.
_ _ If you've a longer-term interest in adding names to LoPbN's list, it would probably also be worth clicking on an edit of the "Pol" section, to see how i reformated it. (I make a point of providing a lk to the edit screen, rather than the page, since you would miss a lot if you looked at the article page but not the edit screen.) The 2nd comment is there to preserve for other editors (who may be interested in creating such an article) the information you provided, since in its original form it impedes rather than furthering the navigational purpose of the LoPbN tree: the detail offers no help in locating the specific E. Poole that a user has in mind, and it would be far more valuable in her future bio article itself.

...On Massachusetts-related articles.

Take care, D. J. Bracey (talk) 21:55, 16 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed you going through the tedious task of adding a Massachusetts template to all MA towns that lacked it, and I also came here to thank you for your good work. So thanks! LizardWizard 19:09, August 21, 2005 (UTC)

Just looking at this, I feel that it is really too large to be a template and is encroaching on what a category is designed to do. You may want to look at splitting it up into Template:Research stations of Antarctica, Template:Islands of Antarctica etc. Evil MonkeyHello 02:21, 22 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, it's filling up screen space with random links that are readily available elsewhere, not to mention it's incomplete and gives a misleading view of our coverage. Stan 04:19, 22 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Please add stub notices to short articles You create, like {{US-northeast-geo-stub}} for Massachusetts related geographical articles. Here's a full list of stubs: Wikipedia:Stub_categories. Happy editing, feydey 20:29, 26 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

In addition, you don't need to add "(Massachusetts)" to most of the article titles. Those are used for disambiguation, where there are multiple articles that have the same name, like John Williams or Mercury. RADICALBENDER 00:26, August 27, 2005 (UTC)

Really minor rocks

[edit]

Hi! I've got some friendly concerns about some of the pages you're creating for some very minor geographical features. In particular, I'm not entirely convinced that things like Bass Rock (Norfolk County, Massachusetts) and Abbot Rock need their own articles. Both of these are basically just single hunks of rock that at some tides aren't even above the water; I'm looking at them on nautical charts here and here. I'd argue that having a name does not make them notable or useful in an encyclopedia. Mariners give names to endless minor features that they might encounter; these names are a necessary tool for navigation and communication, but most aren't really very important otherwise. Of course, some isolated rocks are notable; some are major hazards with a long history of causing trouble, or they're really important regional landmarks (like Fastnet Rock), but most rocks you can get a list of geographical names are not like this.

Anyway, I'm going to submit your three Bass Rock entries to VFD here to see what other people think. Please don't take this personally; I'm just looking for consensus on these features. My friendly suggestion is that you wait to see what the consensus is before putting too much effort into this. CDC (talk) 18:37, 28 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I feel that is too fine-grained geographical detail. I have submitted Apple Island for a VfD just to see what the consensus about entries like this is. The general sentiment is that this stub should go into Logan International Airport, where it sits in its proper context, and that is what I think too. May I suggest that instead of informormation into atomic bits to merge geographic features into the area or municipality that they live in to provide useful context. See also my comment on the VfD for the three Bass Rocks. Pilatus 12:49, 31 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't create articles that are basically lists of external links. An article that has no content other than a list of external links can be speedily deleted. Also see What Wikipedia is not, especially the section "Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information." FreplySpang (talk) 04:26, September 12, 2005 (UTC)
I didn't create any articles that are basically lists of external links. Whatever articles I have created has significant content to it, although additional information may be needed to be added on at a later time. I surely know that Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information and I hope everyone remembers that and follows by those guidelines as I do. I don't know where or how you may think whatever article that I have created may seem other than relevant information but I can assure it does have a notable purpose to it. Thank you very much for your time and dually-noted opinion. Do take care for now! :-) UniReb 04:32, 12 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Specifically, the article List of Taunton, Massachusetts businesses is a list of external links. Try looking at it from the point of view of someone who doesn't live in the Taunton area. Also, we do not generally have articles called List of Anytown, Anystate businesses. That level of detail is more like a phone book than an encyclopedia. I was wondering why you went straight to {{test4}} on User talk:192.35.98.96? Is it a vandal reappearing under a different IP? -Splashtalk 22:45, 16 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Trouble is, though, that an admin won't block if they vandalize again after just that one warning. They get 4 warnings before they're blocked unless they're doing something really serious. So to jump to test4 straight off is to make rather empty threats. Best to start at {{test1}} and work up. Usuaully, just knowing they're being watched is enough to stop them! -Splashtalk 22:57, 16 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Regions of Rhode Island

[edit]

Hi. I was wondering what the source is for "the seven designated regions of Rhode Island" you list on Template:Rhode Island (and made pages for)? I ended up on the page from working on the Blackstone Valley page, one of said regions. I'd like to include on that page a description of BV as a region of RI, which may not match its meaning as defined by the National Historic Corridor agency. Thanks. Template:Portugal

[edit]

I've noticed that you created a template with a summary of topics related to Portugal, however, I have major concerns about its usefulness, content and layout. First of all, I haven't found any similar template in wikipedia and the concept of such template is not found, for example, in Wikiproject Countries. Along with this, there's also a template that included such topics, you may find it in the "see also" section of the Portugal article. About the content, I don't think that Portugal is subdivided into three main structures, such as Madeira, Azores and Continent, that's a very personal (and archaic) view of the Portuguese subdivisions. Further, the subdivisions (NUTS III) are not administrative entities, they are just statistical divisions, so, if we include statistical divisions, why not include the tourism regions or health regions. One may think that Minho-Lima (for example) is a major subdivision of the country, when it is mainly used for European Union statistical works. Of course the municipality is a major subdivision of Portugal, after the national government we find the municipal structures, the districts are just remains of the past structure with minor competences, the template misses all that things. About the layout, I don't find it very attractive or consistent, why have an entire line to say that the capital is Lisbon? And why the History, Politics, Geography, etc, links? As I said, they can be found in the Portugal topics, this last is a useful resource and exists in several other country articles. I really appreciate your effort, and I'm very happy with finding another contributor interested in Portuguuese related topics, I don't feel like the owner of anything, I just wanted to share my opinion with you and receive some feedback. Thanks! Afonso Silva 18:16, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The point is that the subidivisions of Portugal is tagged for cleanup for some reason, mainly because it lacks accuracy and it is much more like original research. It is not a reference article, no way. Let's say that we remove the useless (in my point of view and only in the template) NUTS III regions and that thing of the continental Portugal from the template, we'll finish with a template with the districts, which is what we had before. I don't really think it is a problem of color or something like that, I think the template is inaccurate. Along with that, 90% of it is about subdivisions and then we have the culture, history, etc. links, why should we have a massive template with links to all minor regions of Portugal in the Culture of Portugal article? I agree we can create a general "Portugal" template, but this structure seems inappropriate. Afonso Silva 20:21, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

List of Puerto Ricans

[edit]

One of the main concerns about the "list" is that it is getting out of control and that many names of people who have only had their "15 minutes of fame" or simply are non-notables are being added. I propose that we set up guidelines as to who should be admitted with a clear definition as to the terms "notable" and "fame". I am calling upon the parties interested to express their opinion and to help develope these guidelines. I believe that after we take a vote and reach a censensus, said guidelines should be followed and posted either on the article or the articles talk page. We need your help. Canary Island in Massachusetts.

[edit]

After some digging, since it seemed to have no Google hits, I finally found Canary Island in Massachusetts via MapQuest. Assuming that it's the same one (a tiny, seemingly former island in the river near Northampton), it frankly seems too impossibly small to be worthy of an article. Is there anything of note about the island should an article ever be written? I mean, I don't know, so if there is, fine, but otherwise, I think Canary Island should go back to being a redirect to the Canary Islands.

Any thoughts on the issue would be appreciated. Thanks. SnowFire 02:27, 19 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Images of Taunton

[edit]

The problem with the images I deleted and removed from Taunton, Massachusetts and related articles is not that they weren't "relevant", but that they aren't freely licensed. The tag on Image:Bristol County Superior Courthouse.jpg is wrong, because it's a work of the Massachusetts government, not the U.S. federal government. The U.S. government puts all its works into the public domain, but the Mass government doesn't. The image is NOT public domain. It's easy to take pictures of buildings oneself, so there's no excuse at all for uploading other people's pictures of buildings. Images of buildings are not among the restricted group of images allowed under a fair use claim. And if you upload images from web sites and claim that they are PD or GFDL, when the source web site gives no reason to believe that, you're making a false representation and liable to get yourself blocked. Remember, every picture is copyrighted unless there's a specific reason to believe it isn't! Lack of an explicit copyright statement does not mean the picture is public domain. —Angr 13:33, 5 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyrights

[edit]

Hi UniReb. I've removed incorrect or unexplained copyright tags from the following images that you have uploaded:

I've explained the reason on each image's description page. One major issue that you need to be aware of is that Massachusetts state workers are not employees of the U.S. federal government, and works that they produce are not automatically in the public domain. Also, images, such as the last one I've listed, that are published on the web without a copyright notice are still subject to copyright protection. Please take a look at Wikipedia:Copyrights,Wikipedia:Public domain, and Wikipedia: Image use policy for more information.

Also, it looks like a number of your uploads from 2005 are incorrectly tagged as {{PD-release}} or {{GFDL}}. Unless the image's copyright holder has explicitly agreed to release their work to PD or under the GFDL, these are not the correct tags to use. Would you please go through your upload log and review each of the images that you have uploaded. I am willing to help you, if you like. If you have any questions about any of this, feel free to ask me or to post a question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thanks. ×Meegs 18:40, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Maffitt Ledge, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at its talk page. Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. Orphaned fair use image (Image:Wheaton College Campus Norton Massachusetts.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Wheaton College Campus Norton Massachusetts.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bass Rock (Norfolk County, Massachusetts) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. The Observer (Bristol Community College)

[edit]

A tag has been placed on The Observer (Bristol Community College), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Ohconfucius 07:35, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Berkley_massachusetts_collage_picture.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. Tribute to "the Marine"

I would like to pay a small tribute in this edition to Tony "the Marine". Editing since May 24, 2004, he has been one of our project's most active editors and has become one of Wikipedia's most recognized writers. He has authored over 400 articles, including 4 Featured Articles, 1 Featured List, 10 Good Articles, and 28 DYKs. His name has appeared in newspapers and magazines and has been mentioned by politicians and artists. He has brought Puerto Rico's history and its people to the web. He has shown the world that Puerto Ricans have done much more than just be gangsters and drug dealers. He has shown the world that we have contributed to history and the world just as much as any other group of people.

On September 29, 2007, Tony announced that we would not be writing for Wikipedia anymore. We, the members of this project, are sad that he will not be able to continue to spread the word of Hispanics' contributions here on the web, but I, for one, feel honored that he has entrusted us with the duty of continuing and improving his excellent work.

Tony, rest assured that your contributions, your wisdom, and the help you provided to all of us when we were new users will be remembered for generations. Que Dios te bendiga, Tony, y que tu recompensa sea grande en el Reino de los Cielos.

Viva Puerto Rico libre. —Agüeybaná 16:52, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Better source request for Image:Taunton_Massachusetts_-_Whittenton_-_Whittenton_School.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Taunton_Massachusetts_-_Whittenton_-_Whittenton_School.jpg. You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talkpage. Thank you. OsamaK 11:25, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Norton Massachusetts Veterans Memorial.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Norton Massachusetts Veterans Memorial.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 18:10, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use Image:Town_Common_Norton_Massachusetts.jpg

[edit]
Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Town_Common_Norton_Massachusetts.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use media which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 23:35, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I will continue Eddie's format and willingness to include new material by request. Se levanta un gigante dormido

Saludos to all, I present to you the new version of our project's Newsletter. It has been almost a year since the last edition, but rest assured that we haven't been lazy. Our Good Article count has raised by 11, while we have produced two Featured Lists and two Featured Articles. I will tweak the delivery format, from now on the Newsletter will be delivered per season. That means four anual editions, one for summer, fall, winter and spring. Speaking of summer, it has been a hot one, make sure to check out the project news below. I will also introduce a new section titled "Puerto Rican Highlight" where we will comment about positive accomplishments reached by Puerto Ricans and our representative organizations. - Caribbean~H.Q. 01:17, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

From the editor

Hello, UniReb. This is the sixth issue of WikiProject Puerto Rico's newsletter. The newsletter is intended to help all members to keep up with the latest news relating to the project. Continuing our new format, this issue will discuss the news, achievements and other incidences relevant to our project between fall and winter. - Caribbean~H.Q. 22:34, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Flags and records

Greetings, during the past months, there has been a lot of activity and active discussion surrounding articles within our scope. Of particular interest is one that took place in Flag of Puerto Rico, in which several project members exposed their points of view regarding the tones of our flag. Ultimately, research brought forth a severe loophole in the regulation employed by the Senate of Puerto Rico. Our flag doesn't have official tones! Attempting to prevent future conflicts, I presented a proposal in the project's talk page. The subsequent discussion served as an perfect example of consensus. Thanks to everyone for your participation. In other news, our friend Tony the Marine added another impressive achievement to his brilliant resume. On December 8, 2008, his DYK hook for Ivan Castro (soldier) broke the previous all-time record for more views, receiving 71,300 visits. Tony has also been actively cooperating with this Newsletter, the inclusion of a new "Did you Know?" section, was entirely his idea. - Caribbean~H.Q. 22:34, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Smokey Bones.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Smokey Bones.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:48, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Abnecotants Island

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Taunton Massachusetts Korean War Memorial statue.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello UniReb! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 16 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

File source problem with File:Taunton City Hall old postcard.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Taunton City Hall old postcard.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 22:18, 7 May 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 22:18, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are now a Reviewer

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 01:28, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Smokey Bones Barbeque and Grill requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. -- Alan Liefting (talk - contribs) 20:12, 10 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Filtration Specialties has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No references used after being up for 8 years, no foreseen notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Bartletts Island moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Bartletts Island, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Your draft article, Draft:Bartletts Island

[edit]

Hello, UniReb. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Bartletts Island".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
