User talk:Underdog7
A tag has been placed on Priscilla the Brightest, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Deranged bulbasaur 02:42, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
Wikipedia is not free web hosting
[edit]Consider using Myspace instead, or sending a letter by regular mail. --N Shar 03:00, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
What If?
[edit]Ok so I'm trying to learn here,what If i redirect from the International star registry to this page I'm trying to create as an example? I will speak more about the process and the options and it will be useful to users who want to know how they work? The ISR is notable and used by many people and it even is controversial!-- myspace is immature and dangerous, wikipedia is insightful and enjoyable. I would like to place a love letter in a creative fashion on this respectable site for 4 days max and then let ie be deleted. Please let me know- thank you. Underdog7
- A few points to consider. Firstly, the International Star Registry is a scam, a con, a swindle. They'll take your money and give you the coordinates to a star that they have named for your girlfriend, and NO ONE ELSE WILL EVER USE THAT NAME. Secondly, if you submit your love letter to Wikipedia, you are leaving it open for other people to edit, and possibly vandalize. Do you want Priscilla to read a letter that says "I love you so much SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT MR ROBINSON'S FOURTH-PERIOD AMERICAN HISTORY CLASS SUCKS ASS HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!" granted
[edit]I did my research on it before i bought it, its more of a thought that counts, I dont really care anything about the star being scientifically named. I was gonna edit it everything right before she read it...no one actually read my entry I take it. No consideration for people I guess, just the "business as usual". thanks for your input though, a little harsh though, good luck with your geek. Points to consider with you and your geek- hopefully it'll work for you 2 in spite of your cynicism.
Cheer up!
[edit]Don't be put off by the hostile reaction to your first article. People who've been here a while may sometimes seem a little impatient with new users, but the vast majority of people here (including those who've commented on this page earlier, I'm sure) remember not to "bite" new users and to assume that you're acting in good faith. It may take a little while to get used to the way things are done here, so just browse around for a bit if you want - if you see something that's wrong, you can fix it and help out. And then, if you find yourself thinking "Why isn't there a page on that?", you can have a go. Don't be afraid to ask for help or advice if you need it. I'll leave a standard "Welcome" message now, which has links to some useful pages and saves me more typing... (Oh, and by the way, there is a page on the ISR at International Star Registry already!) Since you've contributed to it in the past, I thought you might want to look in once more on the article's present state and current RfC. arimareiji (talk) 14:34, 31 January 2009 (UTC)
