Welcome templates
[edit]Hello!
I see that you've been nice enough to welcome a myriad of new users. That's a very commendable thing of you to do and I think I speak for the entire community when I say "Thank You"!
If I may suggest, though, the welcoming templates, such as {{W-basic}}, should be placed on the user talk page, not the main user page. Placing a welcome template on the user talk page will trigger an automatic notification to the new user that there is a message waiting for them whereas they might not be able to find the welcome message on their user page for quite a while, if they're not familiar with Wikipedia just yet.
Thanks again and keep up the good work! Big Bird (talk • contribs) 18:39, 22 January 2009 (UTC)
Yes I am aware of that. Sorry. Slipped Few mouse Clicks. It won't happen next time. I know the Importance of others Users Page.
- No need to apologize to anyone for anything, my good man. This was just a heads up, that's all.

AfD nomination of Dr. Syed Razi Muhammad
[edit]I have nominated Dr. Syed Razi Muhammad, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dr. Syed Razi Muhammad. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. ninety:one 22:27, 22 January 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Well, I didn't mean to vandalise at all, but I have to admit I hadn't noticed you rolling me back, so, um... no hard feelings?. Shoemaker's Holiday (talk) 19:21, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Qiqihar Medical University, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://english.qqhrmc.net.cn/view.asp?unid=267. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 22:44, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Qiqihar Medical University
[edit]A tag has been placed on Qiqihar Medical University requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. A Question
[edit]Dear Friend;
Could you please help me with uploading images on English Wikipedia? I don't know why I can't upload anything on English Wiki. Does that mean that I'm not a confirmed user yet? I've been a high-contributor user on Farsi Wikipedia. Are they different?

Notification of automated file description generation
[edit]Your upload of File:Bbmclabs.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. New deal for page patrollers
[edit]Hi Ummairsaeed,
In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.
Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.
Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)
RC Patrol-related Proposals in the 2016 Community Wishlist Survey
[edit]Greetings Recent Changes Patrollers!
This is a one-time-only message to inform you about technical proposals related to Recent Changes Patrol in the 2016 Community Wishlist Survey that I think you may be interested in reviewing and perhaps even voting for:
- Adjust number of entries and days at Last unpatrolled
- Editor-focused central editing dashboard
- "Hide trusted users" checkbox option on watchlists and related/recent changes (RC) pages
- Real-Time Recent Changes App for Android
- Shortcut for patrollers to last changes list
Further, there are more than 20 proposals related to Watchlists in general that you may be interested in reviewing. (and over 260 proposals in all, across many aspects of wikis)
Thank you for your consideration. Please note that voting for proposals continues through December 12, 2016.
Note: You received this message because you have transcluded {{User wikipedia/RC Patrol}} (user box) on your user page. Since this message is "one-time-only" there is no opt out for future mailings.

Orphaned non-free image File:Muhammad Medical College logo.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Muhammad Medical College logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:51, 9 October 2024 (UTC)
