@Ultan42: Hi, and welcome t your adoption page, do you want your adoption to be more formal and straightforward? With lessons, and tests. Or do you want it to be more informal and fun? Let me know and we shall start.TheQ Editor (Talk) 23:18, 5 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Lets say informal to start and maybe formal latter? Ultan42 (talk) 23:43, 5 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Preparing the journey

[edit]

The Wikipedia Adventure

[edit]

The Wikipedia Adventure is an interactive tutorial on the basics of Wikipedia. It includes wiki-syntax, (bold text, italics, headings, pictures) and some guidelines. If you feel this is unnecessary, you may move on.

Twinkle

[edit]

Twinkle is a very useful tool on all sorts of stuff. I would recommend you read over this and this and install it.

Into the Wiki World

[edit]

Remember, if you have any questions during the entire time, do not hesitate to ask me it. We will countinue after the above steps are completed.

Sir, yes Sir.

[edit]

Operation complete. The Adventure was a little basic for me and Im not sure what Id use twinkle for, but they're done. So where do I go from here? Should I find a portal where Id be useful? Im a politics and philosophy student so I guess I'd be best suited to topics I know? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ultan42 (talkcontribs) 16:02, 6 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Picking your target

[edit]

Yes, fellow recruitee. So you're interested in politics and philosophy? Well, you need to pick your primary target to improve. Perhaps any article from Politics stubs or Category: Philosophy stubs could do. Or simply any article that is a stub. You will be taught how to kill (deletion), save (Vandalism) reinforce (References) and many more. So pick an article that is a stub to improve. (Now, this sounds more like a military training Academy). If you need any help finding them, just tell me. TheQ Editor (Talk) 19:53, 6 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
