Ways to improve Virginie Uhlmann

[edit]

Hello, Ulrikelovesscience,

Thank you for creating Virginie Uhlmann.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Thanks for bringing your expertise to this area with another biography relevant to microscopy, but I think that this one is too soon, with this early career researcher not yet reaching notability criteria on this project for academics.

@Klbrain:

Hi Klbrain,
Thank you for your comment. I appreciate your support in ensuring that Wikipedia articles are of high quality.
Since Virginie was appointed as EMBL-EBI (leading bioinformatics institute in Europe)’s first Deputy Head of Research and was appointed director of the BioVisionCenter at the University of Zurich, I am confident that she fulfills criteria 5 & 6:
5. The person has held a named chair appointment or distinguished professor appointment at a major institution of higher education and research or an equivalent position in countries where named chairs are uncommon.
6. The person has held a highest-level elected or appointed administrative post at a major academic institution or major academic society.

Thanks for attempting to address my concerns. However, Point 5 isn't reached as no post is a a named chair appointment or distinguished professor appointment; point 6 isn't addressed at all. It's not one of the criteria, but typically professors at this level will have a H-index in the 30s; Uhlmann, with 12, in a biological field, is well below this; too soon I think. Klbrain (talk) 11:18, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Neither 5 nor 6 are met, this article is not notable and a good candidate for deletion. In addition, 30 is an underestimate of a notable h-factor, > 50 is more standard. She needs to be compared to her peers, see other group leaders. While she has made a good start, it is WP:TOOSOON
Does she have major awards, e.g. society fellowships? If so please include, otherwise the article should be draftified to give you a chance to improve (softer than the alternative of nominating for deletion). Ldm1954 (talk) 17:00, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your feedback. I agree with your reasoning and moved the article to the draft space: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Virginie_Uhlmann
Can it stay there or do I need to move it back to my user space?
Best, Ulrikelovesscience (talk) 17:47, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It can stay. If you do nothing with it for 6 months it will be deleted. Ldm1954 (talk) 17:53, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
