Speedy deletion of Hot Dog City

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

Speedy deletion of Hot Dog City
[edit]A tag has been placed on Hot Dog City, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read our the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from pages that you have created yourself, as you did with Hot dog city. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, then please place {{hangon}} on the page (please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag) and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. ✬Dillard421✬ (talk • contribs) 03:39, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
Hot dog city
[edit]Hot dog city is extremely popular in my area, and many customers have requested a wikipedia for it.
- Sorry, but no. Not only do you fail to establish notability, you've written it in a disparaging tone as well. If those customers, as you say, have requested an article, then heck...this is open content. BUT: It does not mean open season on the servers to create anything you wish to. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 03:43, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
- More to the point, there needs to be verifiable content before an article can be created. If they've had reviews written in multiple major publications—not blogs or self-published work, but magazine and newspapers—and if the reviews lead to some assertion of notability for the company, then and only then can an article be created. —C.Fred (talk) 03:46, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
This is just not fair. Just because you don't like it, does not mean no one else will. Who are you to say that this is not impottant enough.
- Wikipedia:Notability and Wikipedia:Verifiability are cornerstones of Wikipedia. That's what the decision is based on. —C.Fred (talk) 03:48, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
And please do not repost it. FWIW, I just finished an article on the Juan Pollo restaruant chain not ten minutes ago. I also cleaned up and expanded Pink's Hot Dogs and moved it to Veropedia. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 03:50, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
- At this point, I have protected the Hot Dog City article title to prevent further creations, in light of your most recent version of the article. —C.Fred (talk) 03:52, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
The next time you create an inappropriate page, such as Hot Dog City, you will be blocked from editing. This version of the article was deleted as an attack page, because of the comments about the employees. —C.Fred (talk) 03:49, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
attacks?
[edit]what are you talking about 'attacks' you guys just hate being proven wrong.
- "Hot dog city has gained extreme popularity for it's depressed employs, and quality food. The Employs are payed to be depressed, and mope around while making Hot dogs". That sounds like an attack at the employees to me. —C.Fred (talk) 03:53, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
Absolutely correct. Your comments that the employees get paid to be morose and depressed borders on the absurd. Like I said, you simply cannot come here and write about whatever you want. Without a whole lot of verifiable third-party sources and without a lot of borderline attacks on the place, it isn't getting an article. Not my rules. House rules. Would you please look at my new article at Juan Pollo to see what I mean about not only notability, but style? --PMDrive1061 (talk) 03:55, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
so if i make an article like that, hot dog city will be born, i'll leave out the depressed part, even though that is what they are more famous for. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Uhdoogie (talk • contribs)
Again, you have to have notability and there has to be verifiable content in order to put an article up on Wikipedia. Do you not understand this? Momusufan (talk) 04:02, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
I just Googled "Hot Dog City Sonoma" and all that came back were a couple of independent reviews. No website, no history, nothing. The place may have great hot dogs, but it's far from unique. FYI, there is a landmark Mexican restaurant in Palm Springs that opened in 1958...and I'm not entirely sure it even meets the notability requirements. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 04:06, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
you wouldn't understand this community, and hoe appreciative, and excited they were about this article. how it was possible for the entire world to see, what harm is it, i mean you know it's real with the indy reviews, so what if it's not a landmark or world renown. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Uhdoogie (talk • contribs)
- Notability is still the guiding factor. There is also a guideline published at WP:HARMLESS that says that "the article isn't hurting anyone" is not a valid reason to keep an article. —C.Fred (talk) 04:35, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
