Historical accuracy
[edit]The New Age movement started in 1970. Neither Besant nor Blavatsky are considered New Age. Please do not introduce historical inaccuracies into our navigation templates. Also, before adding a new section on a nav template, you should discuss it and get consensus on the talk page first. Thanks. Skyerise (talk) 19:39, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
Additions to articles
[edit]Please note that all additions to articles require citations to reliable sources. Please also note that all additions of categories must be supported by cited text in the article. You cannot just add categories based on your own beliefs and perceptions. You must prove via citation that the category is supported by scholarship. Skyerise (talk) 19:57, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
Changing templates
[edit]Please do not change templates without first proposing changes on the talk page and getting consensus on the talk page. This is a collaborative project: you cannot just make whatever changes you want: if an editor objects (I have done so), then you must show there is a consensus for your changes on the talk page. Skyerise (talk) 23:13, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
For further information, see our bold, revert, discuss cycle. You were bold: you were reverted - after that you have to propose your change on the talk page and gain consensus from the majority of editors responding that your changes are desired. Skyerise (talk) 23:16, 29 May 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not add or change content, as you did at Savitri Devi, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Skyerise (talk) 18:34, 30 May 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that one or more recent edit(s) you made did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.
The edit summary field looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder by setting Preferences → Editing → Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary, and then click the "Save" button. Thanks! Rsk6400 (talk) 06:04, 6 June 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Before adding a category to an article, as you did to Category:English people by political orientation, please make sure that the subject of the article really belongs in the category that you specified according to Wikipedia's categorization guidelines. The category being added must already exist, and must be supported by the article's verifiable content. Categories may be removed if they are deemed incorrect for the subject matter. Thank you. Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently edited a page related to post-1992 politics of the United States and closely related people, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

[edit]Hello, I'm BlueboyLINY. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Tab Hunter, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. BlueboyLINY (talk) 18:17, 22 October 2024 (UTC)
Please do not add or change content, as you did at Jacqueline Gold, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Egghead06 (talk) 02:07, 29 October 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! SMasonGarrison 03:14, 11 November 2024 (UTC)
