Editing wars

Hi UNFanatic!

On your Editing war thing:

I also think that everyone should cool down a bit, with the editing disputes and everything. I would not like the Cyprus dispute article to be deleted, I would like it to hold a balanced view, yet Argyrosargyrou wanted it to be replaced with the POV of the RoC. I would not say that other users are neutral either (E.A is TC, for instance, and holds a pro-Turkish view), but at least they seemed to be able to discuss things before the whole matter turned ugly. Everybody got upset with the continuation of the discussion. However, I hope this whole issue does not deter you from further editing on this encyclopedia, and you will continue to contribute.

Argyrosargyrou is currenty under Request for Comment, which means that he is under evaluation for his behaviour as a user (not only POV, but also personal abuse, disruptive editing etc.). If you wish to say a few words in his defence, or to post a comment there, please do so. But I urge you to first read what has been brought up against him and to form your own opinion before you do so. - Snchduer 14:10, 30 May 2005 (UTC)

And we all know that you (Snchduer) are not neutral either. You want to delete the Hellenic Genocide page and the Turkish Invaion of Cpyprus prus page becaue you do not waht the facts to be heard and people to make their own minds up. You want people to belive the Turkish propgands that you have been posting on the Cyprus dispute page whcih you have repatedly Vandalised every time I have tried to added the issue of human rights violations, missing persons, destruction of cultural heritage, war crimes and illegal colonisation to it. You have deliberately equated the innocent victims of the Turkish invasion of Cyprus with the brutal aggressors which is equivalent to blaming the Jews for the NAZI holocaust and that is why you don't want the facts to be known. --Argyrosargyrou 15:30, 31 May 2005 (UTC)

By the way someone is attacking my page. I traced his IP to midtown Manhattan. I prefer to keep an empty and neutral page(by being emptyof course).(UNFanatic 19:04, 30 May 2005 (UTC))

Hi, is there any reason you deleted those images off my talk page? Thanks, --E.A 11:36, 31 May 2005 (UTC)
Someone is also attacking my page as well.--Argyrosargyrou 15:30, 31 May 2005 (UTC)

I suggest you read the copyvio template. It clearly spells out how the process works. You are not supposed to remove the template and replace it with a good, new version. Instead, you create a new version on a temporary page, the old version is deleted, the new version is moved to the place where the old was. There is really no point in starting an edit war over that. Rl 18:11, 31 May 2005 (UTC)

I've already explained this ([1]), but my message was deleted without comment. If this happens again, it will begin to look like vandalism, not an honest mistake, and will have to be treated accordingly. Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 19:41, 31 May 2005 (UTC)

From Expatkiwi

I see no conflict in my love of the founding documents of the United States and my support of the TRNC. I have followed the Cyprus issue for years. I had come to the conclusion that if people can not live together in peace, then seperation is the only answer to avoid further conflict. I also believe that the UN's decision not to recognize TRNC was made purely for reasons of self-interest. In any case, the TRNC is not an apartheid state in that sense of the word (maybe you should read the TRNC's declaration of independence). So why do you hate the idea of Turkish Cypriots living without fear of being overwhelmed by the Greek Cypriot populace? It's what they want. Expatkiwi 03:34, 3 June 2005

You and I have different views on who is hindering who. If both communities agreed to get back together, beleive me that I would be the first to cheer. However, my suspicions of the Greeks' ulterior motives (the national anthem is a good example of their first loyalties) and the voting down of the Annan plan at the specific direction of the Papadopoulous administration has made me believe that reconciliation is simply not possible for the forseeable future, but embargoing the TRNC is not the answer. A lot more good can be gained by allowing the TRNC to join the family of nations. That is my firm belief, and I'm sorry that you can't permit yourself to think about that option. Expatkiwi 04:46, 3 June 2005

Well, thanks for the comment of that posting of mine about Sampson. He represented the worst of those who wanted Cyprus to become part of Greece. FYI, I keep a framed copy of the US constitution on the wall in my study. I agree with you that it is a wonderful document. A pity that the 1960 Constitution of Cyprus was not regarded with the same degree of love by the Cypriot population. One side saw it as giving too much to one side and the other side saw it as getting too little. It is little wonder that it all started falling apart in 1963. Expatkiwi 05:27, 3 June 2005

Have a great vacation. While we don't agree on this issue, at least we can discuss it maturely. Perhaps reconciliation will be possible on Cyprus some time in the future, and we both hold out hope for that. Expatkiwi 05:33, 3 June 2005

Turkey had stated that since the Greek Cypriots had abrogated the 1960 Constitution in December 1963 and from that point in time kept the Turkish Cypriots out in the cold, they saw no reason to respect it. The only reason why it is still in force is that there are no Turkish Cypriot representation, which suits the Greek Cypriots fine. Expatkiwi 05:45, 30 September 2005

unfortunately it is all a matter of point of view(UNFanatic 22:08, 30 September 2005 (UTC))

Hi UNFanatic,

I have come to think that most probably only a new version could help on the Cyprus_dispute, as the current one is very lengthy and also too neutral; a less history-centric view would maybe be favorable. Would you care to drop me a note or edit directly on Cyprus_dispute/New_version? - Snchduer 17:27, 14 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Politicians etc

Sure, be bold in updating pages about GC politicians. I am not too into GC politics, but I can check wording, grammer and (maybe) NPOV, if you want. However, I do trust you to present a balanced point of view generally. Last but not least, make sure the pictures you insert are public domain, and provide the image files with an explanation as to why they are. - Snchduer 12:07, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Yes, Turkish is official language in south but it’s only seen on the banknotes. We have opened a greek school only for 7 greeks in north. However, you didnt permit a Turkish school for 50 children. It’ obvious who’s better at democrasy...

My brain was not washed and i didnt forget my roots.I know how brain washing is done in south...Cyprus is my home, my country.Your government has tyrannized us for years.Close us to %3 of the island and forced to live in enclaves with no food and even water.Killed hundreds of innocent people untimely...

What was our guilt? Did we want seperation as Albanians do in Kosova? Did we want rejoinment with Turkey again? Did we killed your people as Kurds do in Turkey? What have we done?

An example: 1940, during the WW2. Turkish cypriots gave 9,000 soliders for defence of cyprus while they were 40,000.That makes %23 of the Turkish population Greek cypriots gave 19,000 soliders for defence of cyprus while they were 130,000.That makes %14 of the Greek population. Now, i am asking who loves cyprus more?

You wanted to rejoin with greece. After “Republic of Cyprus” founded in 1960, you started to weaponized your soliders in the same day against Turkish-Cypriots.Terrorist of EOKA, Papadopoulos said “if Turkey tries to come to island, we will kill all the Turks only in 45 minutes”.Turkey has warned you until 11 years.Even your state accepted that they have done “state-terror” in cyprus. This state which did all of these cannot be my state.A state who killed my grandfather when he was 30-years old and leave a widow woman in 25 years old with 3 children cannot be my state.Your democrasy is still using my family’s wealth in south which amounts at least 1 million dollars...

At last, you voted “NO” to Annan Plan. You have proved one more time that you want to live divided. We have right to rule ourselves...

I already know UN(USA and it’s puppet UK) wants a divided cyprus. They have their army and bases by this way.But we didnt create the problem and moreover, we try to find a solution. If cyprus federation founds, you already have to recognize the Turkish government in north.Well then, a compeletly united cyprus is impossible. If we accept that, same things will happen again...

-Inanna-

Sorry i misunderstand you.I supposed you told me that "The problem cannot be solved? You are a poor poor soul with a lack of faith.(UNFanatic)" but you said to him, didnt you?

Most Turkish cypriots already describes themselves only cypriot. However, most greek-cypriots still against to live with Turks.Like this [[2]].Division is good for bigger ones. This is called "Divide et Impera" which always used by imperialist states. However, we couldnt explain that by propagandas.I believe that; "Two states cannot be (real)allies even if they are same nation. However, two nations should be friends if they are living in the same state".Because "the disaster" effects everyone ...

-Inanna-

Kurds killed by Turks?! Greece and South Cyprus is the biggest supporter of PKK.There are 4 PKK terrorist training camps in greece and south cyprus pays them 2,400$ per head monthly. They have killed 70,000 Turks.I can show you pictures of these.State-terror again.

You have 5 million dollars? What you have? 30 billion dollars are all wealth of greeks or you must be the high society. So why are you socialist then?

It was prepared by UN.That's your opinion but that was plan of UN and we voted "yes".However, we still have embargo.Double standards of Western World.

We offered to open doors for both-sides.Well then, Turks are not going south anymore.Turks are facing to personal attacks in south. Not to common but it happens. You may think diffrent but your people's brains were washed so much.It is so difficult to live with greeks for us.Especially under the rule of Papadopoulos.
