Different?

[edit]

Different? And links to homosexuality? I don't understand this; I like queer and lgbt stuff but why the word "different" and why the link to homosexuality, which is only the first two letters in lgbt? Sunnan 16:56, 17 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I added the template to my userpage anyway but I might remove all my babel- and userboxes in a couple of days, I see phrasing problems in most of them. To clarify: "different", compared to what? To use the word "different" still positions heterosexuality as a norm. Which is fine, I guess. Sunnan 16:56, 17 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Mh. I tried to improve it; at first, the last word was "gay", so I figured "different" would at least not exclude L, B and T. If you've got better ideas, feel free to implement them! ナイトスタリオン 08:54, 19 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Hehe...I like that. I've always loved m:GAY :) -Mysekurity(have you seen this?) 18:18, 27 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion?

[edit]

It says this template was listed for deletion, but I didn't see it listed on WP:TFD. Someone only go halfway with the nomination or what?--Rockero420 07:18, 22 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There's a note on User talk:MiraLuka/Userboxes/User queersupport that says discussion on that user box should be referred here. I'm not sure if this is the right place for these comments - please do move them somewhere else if more appropriate! Thanks.

I'm not comfortable with the wording "...and sees nothing wrong with being queer." I find it a little patronising (but perhaps that's just me) - surely "This user is a supporter of the LGBT community" would be enough? I'd appreciate any other views. Thanks. First off, you're probably right about this being an odd place. That note should be removed. I started putting those there when I only had a few userboxes, but they don't really belong. I'll start getting rid of those shortly.
Now for the rest of it, I didn't like the wording that much either. I used to use that box, and I ended up making my own version to get rid of that part. Feel free to change it if you like. —Mira 17:01, 14 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Mira. I'll take away the bit I don't like, and let's see if anyone else objects!! Jenny Wong 14:27, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
