[edit]Hi TylerJThomas1987! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of ALOA Security Professionals Association several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.
All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:ALOA Security Professionals Association, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. Aoidh (talk) 19:32, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
- Feel free to, but this is relevant and cited information. It's going back up. TylerJThomas1987 (talk) 19:33, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
- Also, if you'll notice most pages on Category:Trade associations based in the United States don't have a list of past presidents. This is because Wikipedia is not a directory and listing each and every president in the history of a group is WP:UNDUE and too detailed for Wikipedia articles which use summary style. I couldn't find any other trade groups which listed each past president, but if you'd point them out to me I'll happily address that problem with those articles as well. To be clear, your list is not going to remain in the article, and if you keep edit warring to reinsert it, you will likely be blocked from editing. Please get a consensus before reinserting it. - Aoidh (talk) 19:36, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
- Just to be absolutely clear, if you make another revert, you will have violated WP:3RR and will be reported and likely blocked from editing to prevent further disruption to the article. Hitting undo is not going to keep your content in the article, it is only going to see you blocked from editing. - Aoidh (talk) 19:38, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
- I'll just report you since you have already violated it. TylerJThomas1987 (talk) 19:38, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
- You'll need diffs to back up the claim that I violated it, and you won't be able to provide diffs of that, because I haven't. I'd be very interested in having your actions reviewed by an administrator though, so by all means please make that report so that we can get eyes on this. - Aoidh (talk) 19:44, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
- Done. TylerJThomas1987 (talk) 19:45, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
- Your report is malformed and provides no information. Take a look at the reports above yours for an example of how it should look. - Aoidh (talk) 19:46, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
- Sigh.... I was in the processing of editing when you purged. Why don't you open one then? I won't be childish and remove it. Promise. :-) TylerJThomas1987 (talk) 19:49, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
- It was removed by an administrator, not by me. - Aoidh (talk) 19:50, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
- Well go ahead and submit one since you disagree and want outside eyes/consensus. TylerJThomas1987 (talk) 19:53, 2 August 2022 (UTC)

- What kind of talking point is that? Most don't? Because most haven't been added? Plenty do. It's relevant information. I'm sorry you disagree.
- You get the consensus to remove it. You took the initiative to do remove it because you don't BELIEVE, emphasis mine, that it's relevant. You can't actually cite or illustrate an existing rule. When you can, I'll abide. TylerJThomas1987 (talk) 19:38, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
- Plenty do? Please name one. As for existing rules, WP:UNDUE, WP:NOTDIRECTORY, WP:BRD, WP:ONUS, feel free to read through all of these. "You get the consensus to remove it" is not how that works. - Aoidh (talk) 19:40, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
- Teamsters Union, NRA, etc, go through the list you provided. You'll see others. TylerJThomas1987 (talk) 19:45, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
- The NRA article's list of presidents are all notable people who have their own article and the sources for that section are third-party sources. The section also doesn't take up a disproportionate amount of the article, again per WP:UNDUE. That's very much an apples-to-oranges comparison. - Aoidh (talk) 22:49, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
- Keep moving the goal posts. First it was that they didn't list presidents and now it's people with their own entries. After saying it was unsourced and not relevant. Why do you keep changing the criteria? If it is as black and white as you say, why do you have to keep re-qualifying it?
- Taking things a step further, if you don't think Wiki should be a directory, why does IEEE get to list it's Regions and Subsections? Why does the Promotion Marketing Association get to list it's Councils? Why does Compete America get to list it's Principles? Why does the American Equestrian Trade Association get to list it's Membership Categories? Why does the American Horse Council get to list Membership Groups? Why does American Apparel & Footwear Association get to list their Board of Directors? None of these bullet items have their own page but they're all trade associations. I can go on and on and on of things that no one else had a problem with but, apparently, fly in the face of your arbitrary standards, which you cannot articulate beyond linking to articles that do not apply.
- Go be counter-productive somewhere else. 2600:1700:57AC:9020:E843:B444:A87E:5DD7 (talk) 23:15, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
- The standards I am applying I have already linked, please read them. That other articles list other things is irrelevant, per Wikipedia:When to use or avoid "other stuff exists" arguments. I am not moving the goalposts, when you pointed out the NRA example I explained why that was different. Every point still stands, a list of presidents does not belong on the article just because the organization itself lists them somewhere. Per WP:BRD you must discuss and get a consensus for the content that you want included in the article, or else it will not remain in the article. - Aoidh (talk) 23:33, 2 August 2022 (UTC)
