[edit]If you're talking about that photo you uploaded - you have to say where you got it from? Then, is it a copyright or what? Blnguyen | rant-line 04:16, 3 July 2006 (UTC).
hey! thnks for tht. so u mean i have to mention the site where i got it from??? n neways how do i find out the lisence thingy? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tulika99 (talk • contribs) .Blnguyen | rant-line 04:27, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, you need to say where it is from and why it is allowed. Perhaps under {{logo}}? I can have a look if you tell me what the site is.Blnguyen | rant-line 04:27, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
- Can you go there and click on the image? Because then it will open it in a new window and give the exact address of the picture. Who created the picture? Is it a user of the site or does it belong to the site? Blnguyen | rant-line 04:34, 3 July 2006 (UTC).
the picture you asked about on Village Pump
[edit]Hi, you are talking about Image:50095.gif? It uploaded fine (twice), but you still need to explain why it's okay for Wikipedia to host a copy. That's what that pull-down menu on the upload screen is for. From this disclaimer it appears that it's not okay for Wikipedia to host that image. :(
If this was something for your user page, you are pretty much out of luck with this image, you would need something with a free license. If you were looking to use the image in an article, on the other hand, it may be possible to come up with a fair use rationale.
Maybe we can come up with an allowable replacement, what needs doing will depend on how you wanted to use that thing. --iMeowbot~Meow 04:49, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
- It does indeed look like a product of a commercial organisation. Unless you feel that it is a promotional material which they are spreading to garner publicity.Blnguyen | rant-line 04:57, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
If you want something with a rose theme, The Wikimedia Commons has tons (and tons!) of possibilities that are okay to use here and already uploaded :). --iMeowbot~Meow 05:02, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Post signing
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. When you talk on discussion pages, please sign your name by adding ~~~~ to the end of your post — this makes it much easier to tell who said what. Cheers ~ Booya Bazooka 06:18, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
- Hello Tulika 99. Please remember to sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Please also note that an article's talk page is intended for discussion on that particular article and not for social conversations. Only under very special circumstances should one editor alter or amend the talk comments of another editor. Thanks -- Alias Flood 03:26, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
help
[edit]Please do not use {{helpme}} on your user page, only use it on your talk page. What kind of assistance do you desire? - UtherSRG (talk) 17:13, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
You shouldn't create a new article about something if an article already exists for it. Just click the "edit this page" or one of the other "edit" links on the existing article to continue working the article. Which article do you want to edit? - UtherSRG (talk) 17:45, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
Also, read over the information in the "Welcome" section of your talk page, such as "How to edit a page". - UtherSRG (talk) 17:46, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
What is the exact title of the existing article you want to edit? Put it, with proper capitalization and spelling, in brackets: [[ ]]. And please read the links in the welcome section entirely. You are asking questions answered in there. - UtherSRG (talk) 12:15, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
