Deleting images
[edit]If you want to delete images you have uploaded, you can simply add the template {{db-author}} to them rather than posting them at WP:IFD. It's much faster too. --Hammersoft (talk) 14:54, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
The source for this must be verifiable and specific. Where was this previously published? Do not remove the tag again without adding specific source information, or you will be blocked. Calliopejen1 (talk) 22:39, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
- Having a hard copy doesn't make you the copyright holder. Where exactly do these come from? Do you just have a print of the photo? Do they come from other books? Who took the photos and when? Calliopejen1 (talk) 22:56, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
- You still haven't answered the question. If you have the photos, where did the photos come from? Who took them and when? This information is needed to determine the copyright status. Calliopejen1 (talk) 23:04, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
- I blocked you for 12 hours. When you return, please state the source of your images rather than removing the tags again. You simply may not remove the tags until you provide a source. Calliopejen1 (talk) 23:14, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
- Ummmm - aren't you meant to give me a proper warning before blocking?? And, if you look at the 3RR rules, you will find YOU are in breach on File:Rallyswastikadeutch.jpg - so perhaps you should block yourself??? (Which, by the way, before you blocked me, I was trying to explain was released by the BRITISH GOVERNMENT during the war - hence the info on upload page.) You seem a bit short tempered to be an admin. Perhaps you are overly stressed by student life and a Wiki break might help?--Tufacave (talk) 23:45, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
- Administrators have every right to block who ever they think is wrong. It took you this long to provide a source, and yet you complain that an administrator blocked you. I doubt you tried to explain before you they had blocked you, as you just happen to remove the tag before you wrote a source. Also, you have been uncivil in the Featured pictures project; how would you like it if I had told voters that your pictures are boring and source-lacking files? If you have a problem with people, you might as well leave Wikipedia because it is nothing but society building the largest encyclopedia you can imagine. ZooFari 00:44, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
- Please check your facts before mouthing off about things ZooFari. The source on this picture was added at the time of upload, January 23, as can be seen in the picture edit history.--Tufacave (talk) 11:30, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
- You seem to be missing the point. It was never suggested that the image contained no source at all. It was just that the source information you provided was not extensive enough to verify the origin of the content. Calliopejen1 did keep requesting specific details and you kept ignoring them and being rude in reply. Diliff | (Talk) (Contribs) 11:42, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
- Ah, well that makes a bit more sense. Thanks for enlightening me. Calliopejen1 did not make it clear what they wanted me to do, so I just got frustrated in the end by going round and round the roundabout as it were. I actually still don't know what else you need. There is a bit of paper stuck on the back of the envelope holding the old glass negative saying it was released by British Gov in 1941, but it doesn't say where it was published - or even if it was. Anyway, I've asked for the picture to be deleted now, as I can't be bothered with all this hassle. Shame - cos it was pretty unusual.--Tufacave (talk) 11:47, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

Block threat
[edit]The threat of blocking me is rather uncivil when I have done nothing wrong. I have hard copies of both File:Queenmumindurham.jpg and File:Rallyswastikadeutch.jpg. If you care to Google either/both you will find that neither picture appears anywhere else on the internet. (Unless copied from my uploads on Wikipedia.) The details you need to keep these pictures are included in the upload page content. Please do not threaten me any further. If you feel the need to delete, then feel free. I won't be sobbing into my beer if you do.--Tufacave (talk) 22:54, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Request reason:
I wasn't uncivil and I repeatedly told the admin that the details they needed were in the upoad page. The admin also breached the 3RR rules.
Decline reason:
Yes you were and your details were inadequate. No she didn't. —Travistalk 03:51, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
