User talk:TrulyBlue Extrudehoner
Welcome
[edit]Hello Extrude Hone. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Extrude Hone. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Extrude Hone|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. --VVikingTalkEdits 14:50, 11 September 2020 (UTC)
Response from Extrude Hone
[edit]Hello Viewmont Viking, Thanks for deleting all edits I made. I'm one employee from Extrude Hone and the information added is the true history of the company. And come in addition to the really minimum information which was already provided and kept. There was nothing promoting any benefits there were only facts. Is adding a photo of the company building considered as promotional? Do links to Wikipedia industry page like automotive seen as promotional knowing that this is obviously the main business from Extrude Hone. If I compare the information provided to a page like General Motors I feel I can find the same facts, same structure. I do value Wikipedia spirit but I'was struggling to understand what happened to my edits. You provided the answer "financial interest and compliance" - — Preceding unsigned comment added by Extrude Hone (talk • contribs) 06:56, 14 September 2020 (UTC)
I guess I had missed the declaration that I'm an employee.
Extrude Hone, in accordance with the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use, discloses that they have been paid by Extrude Hone for their contributions to Wikipedia. |
. Now corrected. Could you revert the deletion?
Help me!

Please help me with... As an employee, I decided to edit the Extrude Hone page as the information was not correct and definitely extremely limited. My edits were removed. Sounds that I should have disclosed that I was "financially" connected to the company. So I have now declared that I'm an employee which means I'm obviously paid by the company. Would it be enough, correct to get the deletion reverted and my edits kept? Extrude Hone (talk) 12:47, 14 September 2020 (UTC)
- You'll need to change your username.
- Thank you for wishing to help improve the Wikipedia article Extrude Hone Corporation. You've made your COI declaration, but the other part of the advice for editors with a conflict of interest is that they not edit the article directly. Instead, they are to make edit requests on the talk page of the article, in this case Talk:Extrude Hone Corporation, and use the {{request edit}} template.
- The other problem with your edits is that they do not cite any sources. Everything written on Wikipedia needs to be verifiable from published sources (but not necessarily online sources). By not providing references, you opened the possibility that any other editor would simply remove your unsourced changes.
- It would be best to use independent publications as references. Unless we can find some of these, there is some likelihood that the article will be deleted, despite its long tenure, for lack of notabilty. I was tempted to peremptorily replace the article with a redirect to Kennametal, but that article is in the same terrible shape as this one. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 14:24, 14 September 2020 (UTC)

[edit]You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.
Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the bottom of your talk page.
You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text
{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.

- Thanks for acknowledging your COI and requesting a rename. I am happy to unblock you but I am not able to rename you. However an administrator with those privileges will no doubt be here soon and will do both. Thanks again. Glen (talk) 06:27, 15 September 2020 (UTC)
Moving forward
[edit]Thanks for your support.
OK, I will suggest the edit in the talk section - when unblocked-, as they were published and I will bring as many references I can. Hopefully someone will take over. As an example Extrude Hone has been acquired by Madison Industries there was a PR from both companies. Reference to legal document should be an option too?
Information related to Extrude Hone activities and industry the company I guess press article about Extrude Hone reference should be OK. I guess a testimonial from a customer but published on the company website is not considered as a valid reference or it has to be published on the customer website?
For Subsidaries what is best?
Being new to wiki but of good faith I tell you that’s a lot to learn.
A mentionned wiki page is considered as terrible for the same reason - lack of reference - but still online, why?
Looking forward to do my share and the community to help. Thanks.

Please help me with Bringing back Extrude Hone.
I do not know why someone has redirected the Extrude Hone Corporation page to Kennametal
THIS IS WRONG. Could people avoid to take decisions without having the knowledge of the situation and the source?
Extrude Hone has been acquired by Madison Industries in 2016 See below sources:
2016 Acquisition by Madison Industries (a privately held company with $7 Billion Enterprise value)
https://www.bizjournals.com/pittsburgh/blog/morning-edition/2015/12/kennametal-completes-sale-of-seven-businesses.html https://www.pm-review.com/kennametal-completes-sale-of-non-core-businesses-to-madison-industries/ https://madison.net/madison-industries-expands-industrial-solutions-portfolio/
In addition and prior to the acquisition by MAdison the company name has been changed.
2015 Conversion from Kennametal Extrude Hone Corporation to Extrude Hone LLC
Below extract from the public Register
I do feel very unfair what happened. I'm seeking help to restore the truth. I made a bad start because I was new to wiki, but I complied immediately when told. I have prepared a list of suggestions with all the sources for Extrude Hone. Then contributors could decide.
Please revert the redirect has it's wrong and unblock me so I can make the suggestions for changes in "Extrude Hone LLC" ( previously "Extrude Hone Corporation") TALK page.

- Extrude Hone, If you are unblocked you'd be welcome to use the {{request edit}} to request the changes, but again as mentioned above per our conflict of interest guidelines you are strongly advised not to edit the article directly. If you go in and start edit warring you'd likely receive sanctions. As mentioned I cannot rename you so you will have to wait until your request is attended to. Please bear in mind we're all volunteers so please be patient. Glen (talk) 07:38, 16 September 2020 (UTC)
(@Glen:),
Thanks I will be patient. And yes I will suggest changes in the Talk Section. Lesson learnt. But when looking at what recently happened ( the redirect) I'm a bit dispointed at least.
(@Jmcgnh:), Hi jmcgnh, As you wrote: "I was tempted to peremptorily replace the article with a redirect to Kennametal" Not sure if you did or someone else, I can't see this? Could you help reverting the redirect that occurred based on the above sources I provided?
To Viewmont Viking
[edit]Hello Viewmont Viking Based on wiki below nfo On September 15th: diffhist Extrude Hone Corporation 15:52 -726 Viewmont Viking talk contribs Completely unsourced article, redirect to barely cited parent company Tag: New redirect (@Viewmont Viking:), As you did the redirect assuming Extrude Hone belongs to Kennametal. I suggest you consider the above sources I submitted in the above section that prove that it's no longer the case. I would appreciate if you could revert the redirect. I perfectly understood all the mistakes I made. I declared by now that I'm an employee of Extrude Hone, long enough to had the honor to work with the founder Larry Rhoades. I have requested a name change to also be compliant. I'm for now blocked and waiting. The edits I had submitted, the history and description of what Extrude Hone does are all back up with independent sources which in the meantime I collected. I will suggest all this as potential changes for the Extrude Hone page when back and allowed to do so. And I do appreciate any correction if it would sound too promotional. I think history, market the company is in, and technology used when documented with independent sources should be OK. I understand you followed undocumented statement info to take action, that's OK, could happen. Now that you have proof to decide, please revert your action. Extrude Hone (talk) 12:12, 16 September 2020 (UTC)
- It may no longer be owned by Kennametal, however the redirect I believe is still the best place for it as it is related to the company and because on its own it does not meet Wikipedia's notability requirements.
- As you posted on my talk page that mean you are no longer blocked from editing. If you feel this shouldn't be the case you can suggest changes on the talk page of the redirect with the request edit as Glen mentioned.VVikingTalkEdits 13:16, 24 September 2020 (UTC)
