Multiple accounts
[edit]Just out of curiosity: are you Trimachio (talk · contribs), or Trimalchio (talk · contribs), or both? Dori ☾Talk ⁘ Contribs☽ 02:04, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
- Both! I don't know how that typo crept into the system, but it seems to have kept up with me over the years. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Trimachio (talk • contribs) 19:09, 22 June 2012
- I'm logged in with the L now. -Trimalchio. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Trimalchio (talk • contribs) 02:12, 23 June 2012 (UTC) (copied from here)
- Based on the above, and on your other talk page, you might have a problem. I strongly recommend that you read WP's policies on having multiple accounts here and here. You might also have a problem with what WP calls role accounts, where multiple people share a single account.
- My personal advice, worth all you're paying for it: give one of the two to your wife and have her change the password. Voila, no more problems. Dori ☾Talk ⁘ Contribs☽ 02:43, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for the heads up. First, the two accounts thing was a mistake. I'm only using one account. I seem to have accidentally created a second account. Second, Sara hasn't edited anything on Wikipedia in ten years. We were Wikipedians when Larry Sanger still welcomed people aboard. I realize that in the last 15 years, Wikipedia has become very invested in policing itself, and that a culture of 'friendly advice' has permeated the system. And I understand why that has happened, and I suppose it makes sense as the system has evolved. But trust me, there is no reason to get worried. I'm more of the very old school of Wikipedians. I know you are trying to help, and I appreciate that. I would like to think my contributions to the system would speak for themselves. Again, thanks for your concern. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Trimalchio (talk • contribs) 21:53, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
The article Manchester Mirror has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-notable newspaper (cf. also Wikipedia:Notability (periodicals)
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. SoWhy 14:39, 15 March 2019 (UTC)
Manchester Mirror moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Manchester Mirror, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the prompts on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. ... discospinster talk 17:04, 15 March 2019 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of The Manchester Mirror
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on The Manchester Mirror requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Meszzy2 (talk) 07:04, 8 April 2019 (UTC)
