Categorising redirects
[edit]Hi, re this edit, where does WP:MOS rule out WP:Categorizing redirects? That one seemed appropriate to me under the heading "Redirects whose target title is incompatible with the category". – Fayenatic London 18:56, 4 January 2013 (UTC)
- As you have not replied, I have gone ahead and reverted your edits to that page and this. – Fayenatic London 13:37, 21 January 2013 (UTC)

Blaenau Ffestiniog mine images
[edit]Hello Trident13,
I saw that you are one of the few who did some edits related to slate mining in Wales. As part of a big upload of images from the Dutch Heritage Agency there are also uploaded a few (40) images which are probably from the Oakley mine in Blaenau Ffestiniog. If you're interested could you look at the Category on commons whether my presumption is correct?

Taff Vale Railway not a pre-grouping railway?
[edit]Hi, why did you remove Category:Pre-grouping British railway companies from Taff Vale Railway? It's definitely a pre-grouping railway: it was named in the First Schedule to the Railways Act 1921 as a constituent company of the Western Group. --Redrose64 (talk) 19:52, 29 January 2013 (UTC)
- If you look, Category:Early Welsh railway companies includes Category:Pre-grouping British railway companies, hence covers both through sub-cat. Rgds, --Trident13 (talk) 19:54, 29 January 2013 (UTC)
- I don't think that's correct. The description at the top of Category:Pre-grouping British railway companies shows that it's for those railways that were grouped in 1923 to form the 'Big Four' railway companies. Therefore, any railway not actually named in the First Schedule to the Act should not be a member of that category; and since Category:Early Welsh railway companies includes many lines that had amalgamated long before the Grouping, Category:Early Welsh railway companies should not be a sub-cat of Category:Pre-grouping British railway companies. --Redrose64 (talk) 20:05, 29 January 2013 (UTC)

Insole Court
[edit]Hi Trident 13, I just happened to go into Wikipedia and noticed that a lot had been changed since the last time I looked, and there were several errors which I thought best to correct - having studied the history of Insole Court for five years, along with the Insole Court Heritage Research Group. The pic of Ty Fry Lodge isn't Insole Court Lodge on Fairwater Road, it is a former Insole owned property in the Vale of Glamorgan. Insole Court Lodge is a grey stone building. Sorry if I'm not aware of the correct way of doing these amendments but I've never been on here before and just wanted it to be right. Don't even know if I'm doing this properly.InsoleCourtresearcher (talk) 22:16, 14 February 2013 (UTC) Best wishes, Insole Court researcher.
Rachael Hodges
[edit]Hi there, I'm making a couple of small alterations on Rachael's behalf. Could you leave the page as I leave it as she doesn't feel it is entirely accurate?
- Hi, thanks for your message. Firstly, you are removing references, and secondly you have left no edit summary. Please insert your reasonsing into your edit summary. However, personally seems a bit "strang" that you decide to edit on the same day as the BBC NUJ strike???? Rgds, --Trident13 (talk) 23:24, 18 February 2013 (UTC)
- I would argue that it seems odd to post the page and make a point of the fact that she worked on that strike day. Furthermore, you have included a number of "facts" that are simply incorrect. She did not train on the BBC grad scheme and she's not a Cardiff City fan. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Giantblando (talk • contribs) 23:30, 18 February 2013 (UTC)
- As I reinserted the page, if something is in there then its in there because it happens to appear in a reference - which you removed. However, I accept that on occasions, certain facts change and certain journalists don't always get things right. Also may I point out or rules on Conflict of Interest at WP:COI. As her partner, you are presently crossing these. I hence in my last edit reinserted the Telgraph reference that you removed BUT removed the ref to the 2010 strike. Rgds, --Trident13 (talk) 23:44, 18 February 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks, it wasn't my intention to remove references or overstep boundaries - merely to ensure what was on there was correct. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Giantblando (talk • contribs) 00:11, 19 February 2013 (UTC)

Vandal1 - removal of Infobox from Savile Row
[edit]Hello, I'm Trident13. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions to Savile Row because it didn't appear constructive. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! Simply, removal of an infobox is vandalism, pure and simple. Rgds, --Trident13 (talk) 14:16, 3 March 2013 (UTC)
- Yes, I noticed you have a preference for the infobox. I have restored some edits you undid when you reverted, though kept the information you want in the info box. I don't think that the box is adding anything of value to the article, as the information it mentions is already mentioned in the lead. Infoboxes are not mandatory - see Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style_(infoboxes)#Using_infoboxes_in_articles. Shall we have a discussion on the article talkpage as the best way forward? [edit]On 7 March 2013, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Sealyham House, which you created or substantially expanded. The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Sealyham House. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. [edit]Are you about to create an article on Witton Park Ironworks? Chiswick Chap (talk) 21:24, 22 March 2013 (UTC)
- Hi thanks for your message! I'm into railways, and just happened to stumble across it - but it would seem worthy of its own article. I have put in a redirect at present to the Witton Park Colliery article, and if I can collect enough information (quick serach didn't show much more than is there at present; probably have to get to the books to do it justice), then conclude that yes it would be worth expanding. Are you working on one? Hope that helps - Rgds, --Trident13 (talk) 21:38, 22 March 2013 (UTC)
Murder of Anni Dewani
[edit]Hi, could you take a look at the Murder of Anni Dewani article as you were the creator of the article. A user has today made several huge edits and removals of information that seem to have changed the article into a pro-South Africa article in the stance of guilt or not of Annis murderers. Alot of info removed also concerning South Africas poverty problems that were properly sourced. If you find time please take a look, I am quite suspicious of the edits made. I am also thinking the user has some connection to the case as he has removed alot of the information pointing to guilt of the people involved in her murder.--BabbaQ (talk) 13:12, 24 March 2013 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for your message, I hope that I find you well! Well spotted, and I agree with your conclusion. So I went in and reversed the removal of the ref'd sections, and dropped him a message on his talk page. As I said to him it is always difficult to be neutral during these in-progress cases, but it is essential that we record both sides of the debate. Best Regards, --Trident13 (talk) 19:14, 24 March 2013 (UTC)
- I am not sure but seems like the user is on it again. Best regards.--BabbaQ (talk) 15:40, 27 March 2013 (UTC)
- Should we suspect anything less?! I can see his point, but Dewani hasn't yet had his defence. Reverted, vandal1 tag on his talkpage, I suspect a long-haul opportunity here as he hasn't communicated yet (never a good sign). Rgds, --Trident13 (talk) 18:40, 27 March 2013 (UTC)
- I am not sure but seems like the user is on it again. Best regards.--BabbaQ (talk) 15:40, 27 March 2013 (UTC)
Hi Trident13 and BabbaQ - Did you read (a) the comments I left at each alteration and (b) the more extensive reasons posted on the Murder of Anni Dewani talk page. I am at a loss to understand BabbaQ's accusation that I have removed inFormation pointing to "guilt of people involved". Please substantiate. Secondly, the two most recently removed passages were done under WP:BLP, as made clear in the talk page. I have very solid reasons for removing that material, at least in its present form. A little courtesy would go a lot further than your present attitude! I can see this heading to dispute resolution already! afd (talk) 03:57, 28 March 2013 (UTC)
The appropriate forum for discussion of edits to the Murder of Anni Dewani article is the Murder of Anni Dewani talk page (see WP:OWN). I have already left plenty of comment there, which you have not responded to. You are already exhibiting a bullying behaviour by your above use of vandal1 tag without replying to even one of the issues I have raised. As regards NPOV, you could start by practicing what you preach. BabbaQ please explain what do you mean by "pro-South Africa" in this context. Meanwhile, noting the WP:BLP policy, I shall have no alternative but to take this straight to arbitration if you don't make a genuine attempt to discuss the issues, which are there on the Murder of Anni Dewani talk page awaiting your reply. afd (talk) 08:34, 28 March 2013 (UTC)

Tyntesfield
[edit]I have reinstated the advertisement template at the head of Tyntesfield#Visitor_experience, as you removed the template without addressing the concern raised.
My concerns are twofold:-
1) The advertizing nature of the section; just to pick on two examples:-
- Access times ... should be checked before travelling.
- (NOTE: on busy or popular days, tickets to the house will sell out quickly, often before midday).
- Access times ... should be checked before travelling.
- In addition to the advertizing problem, these examples also breach MOS:BOLD and WP:EL
2) The travel-guide nature of the section
- As stated in WP:NOTTRAVEL
- Wikipedia is not the place to recreate content more suited to entries in hotel or culinary guides, travelogues, and the like. Notable locations may meet the inclusion criteria, but the resulting articles need not include every tourist attraction, restaurant, hotel or venue, etc
You did amuse me, however, with "Charges for entry are mad" :-) - Arjayay (talk) 15:18, 5 April 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for asking me to take a look at this article - sorry for the delay I have been away on holiday. I think you have done a lot of good work on this. I have been through and made some changes - particularly links to disambiguation pages - please check I haven't changed the meaning. I have also corrected some typos and removed some of the "advertorial" from the visitor experience section. There are a few things which I think need your attention:
- The lead is too short to summarise the article
- There are a few points where I think further references are needed (shown with cn tags)
- I didn't know how to correct "All stone was accurately matched to the original, with much a Cotswold oolitic limestone from Veyzeys quarry near Tetbury." but the grammar needs looking at!
- Lots of the books need page numbers in the references
- Badgers - the proposed badger cull (which I thought was on hold) would cover West Somerset & not include the North Somerset area
- If you'd like to take another look at some of them, then I think I could put it up to a B grade & suggest nomination for GA - if you'd like to work together to get it up to that standard I'd be happy to help but busy in the near future catching up at work after 10 days away.— Rod talk 16:38, 7 April 2013 (UTC)
- I've been back and had a go at some of these issues. Would you be kind enough to take another look?— Rod talk 16:45, 26 April 2013 (UTC)
I'd done a bit more on this one & asked User:Giano (who has written lots of great articles on architecture etc) to take a look. You might like to see some of the comments on the talk page.— Rod talk 20:37, 1 May 2013 (UTC)
- A variety of others problems including copyvios have been identified in this article - it would be great if you could engage with the group of editors now working on it or on the talk page.— Rod talk 10:05, 4 May 2013 (UTC)

Bentley Blower No.1
[edit]Hi Trident13, on Bentley Blower No.1 there seem to be some things that are not quite right. I have changed the name of what must be a racing driver to make it correct (I believe) but it is always possible I am mistaken. Your Don Kaye I think must be Kaye Don (it looks as if he chose his own name). Also the article is over mysterious about the bodies the car had. The description of the first body makes no sense at all and it reads as if you were groping a little for a meaning! Then the next body gets no mention at all. There are other small odd errors too, . . . power developed?? selflessly harrying?? Regards, Eddaido (talk) 05:33, 18 April 2013 (UTC)

The article Cardiff Gate services has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Article is unsourced and I don't believe the (unproven) claim that it was used as a set for Gavin and Stacey is sufficient to prove it's notability. Fails WP:NCORP.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Sionk (talk) 18:47, 22 July 2013 (UTC)

Railways around Didcot RDT
[edit]I don't "isist on putting in anal detail which the average observer can't understand" - what I'm insisting upon is that the name Moreton Junction not be applied to the junction for the Didcot, Newbury & Southampton line. The DN&S joined the main line at Didcot East Junction, the same point that Didcot East Curve leaves the relief line; that's approximately at 51°36′32″N 1°14′09″W / 51.6090°N 1.2358°W. Moreton Junction is at 51°36′07″N 1°12′52″W / 51.6019°N 1.2145°W, where there are crossovers allowing trains to cross from relief to main or vice versa; it's named after the nearby villages of North Moreton and South Moreton. --Redrose64 (talk) 13:32, 17 August 2013 (UTC)

New Wales Coast Path WikiProject
[edit]I see you're a member of WikiProject Wales and have contributed to Welsh articles. There's a new project, Llwybrau Byw!|Living Paths! under development which you might be able to contribute to. Lonely Planet rated the coast of Wales "the best region on Earth" in 2012, yet there is a very low number of articles on the history and culture of places along the Coastal Path and the many and various activities and attractions. This promises to be an exciting project as it gathers momentum with many Users joining in. Let's make this WikiProject, like the path itself, the best on earth! Category: Cycle Manufactures of the UK. Sub catergories
[edit]Hello Trident,
Why have you set up sub categorizes on this category list? And then why put Bromptons as a sub catergory, since they are essentially a single design manufacturer? I can understand Raleigh more as they had several sub brands underneath them. I have not been involved with creating or editing pages much on Wikipedia so I don't want to change things without asking.

- Cats are one way of organising information, making it easier to access - Lists are another. In this case the article on the creator of Brompton Bicycle was not associated except in the article, and neither was the championship. Creation of a sub-cat under UK Manufacturers allowed all three to be accessed in one point. Hope that helps - Rgds, --Trident13 (talk) 20:37, 11 December 2013 (UTC)
