Question about translations

[edit]

I have noticed a lot of pages on Mexican politicians and institutions are incomplete when compared to their Spanish Wikipedia versions. I was wondering if there is a specific procedure for translations (as in, a proper way to give credit to the original editors and/or to indicate the edits are a translation). Is it enough to mention in the edit summary that it is a translation? TrayectosEnElMundo (talk) 12:22, 25 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information about translation is found at WP:Translation and Help:Translation, but basically as long as you give attribution to the original author (and tell where you got the text from) you should be good to go. If you want more help, change the {{help me-helped}} back into a {{help me}}, stop by the Teahouse, or Wikipedia's live help channel, or the help desk to ask someone for assistance. Primefac (talk) 12:33, 25 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
