new Crocker page

[edit]

Thanks for putting up a page on the founder of the Crocker Museum!! And how fun that you used the image painted by Stephen Shaw, because I'm the one who uploaded it! I think I have a bit more for the page, but it will be a few days before I can get to it, besides this one http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacob_Sloat_Fassett which is the husband of another Crocker daughter. Again, great article start and thanks!! Ellin Beltz (talk) 10:12, 27 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted Edits

[edit]

{{help me}} How do I see my edits that have been deleted? I see that 75 of my edits have been deleted, but I don't know which ones they are. They may or may not be right (they probably are as I am not a pro yet but I still want to be able to see them so that I can learn from them or dispute them. Thanks!--Toyz1988 (talk) 22:50, 9 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You can't see them, they are gone from normal view. Only admins have a "view deleted user contributions". Anyway, although there are 75, they only refer to three pages - User:Toyz1988/Sacramento City Cemetery (4), User:Toyz1988/Edwin B. Crocker (10), User:Toyz1988/John Augustus Sutter, Jr. (61) - hope that helps.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 23:06, 9 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
That clarifies things perfectly. Thank you so much!--Toyz1988 (talk) 16:01, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

William H. Weeks

[edit]

{{help me}} On the Secretary of State of California article there is a link to William H. Weeks (7th Cal. Secy of State). When you click the link it automatically goes to the wrong article (there is no article for this individual). It goes to an article for an architect. These men are clearly different if you look at the burial index for the Sacramento Historic City Cemetery, you will see that CA Secy of State Weeks lived around 46 years while the architect Weeks (as you can read in his article) lived around 72 years. How do I correct the link so that it does not go to the wrong man with a very similar name?-Toyz1988 (talk) 22:15, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Toyz. Good catch. I fixed it with this edit. If you're interested, some pages which will explain various aspects of what I did are: Wikipedia:Disambiguation, Wikipedia:Piped link, Wikipedia:Red link and more generally, Wikipedia:Article titles, Cheers.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 23:15, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Creating a Global Account

[edit]

I have attempted to link my Wikipedia and Wikimedia accounts into one Global Account, but it did not work. I followed the instructions to do so and was told that all the Toyz1988 accounts were linked but when I log into one account I still must log into the other if I want to edit something. Can you offer any insight as to why this did not work? Thanks, Toyz1988 (talk) 16:10, 19 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Registering a global account only reserves the username for you across the various Wikimedia projects. You will still, however, have to log into each separately unless you check the "Log me in globally" box when signing in. I hope that helps. Topher385 (talk) 19:59, 19 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sacramento Photo request

[edit]

I saw your name here. Would you mind taking photos (inside and outside) of the Hotel Senator building at 1121 L Street, Sacramento, California and uploading them to commons. As for the shot angles, you can get ideas from here and here. Thanks. -- Uzma Gamal (talk) 12:15, 25 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That would be great! In addition to an article on the Hotel Senator, I've been working on an article on Assassination attempt on President Ford in Sacramento (the seem to go hand in hand). While you are near the Hotel Senator, could you also get some photos of the location of Assassination attempt on President Ford. From his suite at the Senator Hotel, Ford crossed L Street, also known as Lincoln Highway, at 10:02 AM on September 5, 1975 into Capitol Park and began shaking hands with people who had gathered in a crowd on the park's pathway. He was headed to the east entrance of the Capitol (he go there at 10:06 am) and was about 150 feet into the park when Fromme pointed a gun at Ford (10:04 am). Ford diary for that day is here. There is a video on it here and here. I've been trying to figure out the exact spot where Ford stood when Fromme pointed a gun at him, but can't do that from Google maps or those videos. Maybe there is a plaque there in the park or something to indicate the spot (photos of that would be great). Also, the Capitol building is angled relative to North, South, East, and West, so I don't know where the east entrance is (where Ford actually entered the Capitol on September 5th)! I created a map and put in Category:Ford assassination attempt in Sacramento, but I don't know whether the locations I identified are correct. A photo of the Capitol building east entrance would be great. If you could get a photo of Fromme's attic apartment at 1725 P Street, that would be nice too. (Some photos are here). Also, a photo of a Lincoln Highway sign would be nice if there is one near L Street and the park. There's Lincoln was shot in Ford's Theater and the assassination attempt on Ford was after he crossed Lincoln Highway. So here's more photo request:
  1. Hotel Senator photos
  2. Identify geo codes of exact spot where Ford stood during the assassination attempt
  3. Assassination attempt location photos
  4. Capitol east entrance from Ford's perspective photos
  5. Lincoln Highway sign photos
  6. Fromme's attic apartment at 1725 P Street photos
  7. Anything else you can think or see that marks the event in the area.
Thanks! -- Uzma Gamal (talk) 12:17, 27 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited California State Assembly election, 2016, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Jim Patterson. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
