What's up with this... I registered an account and right away I'm blocked from editing? What reason? The apparently mass-produced message offering a reason says "see our blocking policy". And do what ... take a guess what offense I committed by registering an account? I can't guess, somebody please give me a hint.

Then it says I was blocked because I used the IP address that I used. That is circular reasoning I can't seem to grasp. Tormender was blocked for using the IP that Tormender uses? I just don't get it.

Then, for the third supposed reason, it says the reason is "please contact an administrator". Okay, that's not a reason, but I thought I would try the implicit advice of the non-sequitor explanation. So I tried "as described on this page." But guess what, I have to be logged in to contact an administrator, and I can't log in because as soon as I registered an account, I was blocked. Guess I won't be contributing much to the "encyclopedia anybody can edit."

You were blocked by Naconkantari for the following reason (see our blocking policy): Autoblocked because your IP address has been recently used by "Tormender". The reason given for Tormender's block is: "please contact an administrator for verification, as described on this page.".

Or your IP address is assigned dynamically and was used recently by a vandal...KC9CQJ 05:20, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Even after three tries, that cookie-cutter message assigned to this user page did a poor job of explaining that. Is there somewhere I can look and see what IP ranges are blocked? How long will this IP be blocked? Tormender 05:22, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I see the template that appeared on this page when I pasted the text as suggested is now asking me for my IP, which I can cut and paste from the other template. It's 207.200.116.138 Tormender 05:24, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, using Google, I located the page where blocks are logged and it seems Naconkantari is systematically and indefinately blocking new user names. If the idea is to test to see if I'm a bot, there are routine programs for this called Capcha programs. Tormender 05:28, 20 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your username has been unblocked. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Naconkantari 16:00, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
