No personal attacks
[edit]TonyJoe, I noticed that a comment you've left on Talk:Lord Voldemort was a bit insulting. Per unofficial policy, I have removed the attack part. For the future, no personal attacks. —MESSEDROCKER (userpage) (talk) 02:34, August 27, 2005 (UTC)
Image Tagging Image:Fantastic Beasts.jpg
[edit]This media may be deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Fantastic Beasts.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. feydey 11:11, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
- I fixed it, please add the book's name in the image's Summary. feydey 18:40, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
Orphaned fair use image (Image:Fantastic Beasts.jpg)
[edit]This media may be deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Fantastic Beasts.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that your image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If your image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why your image was deleted. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. feydey 12:28, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
Re: Requested Picture
[edit]Hi TonyJoe, I'm afraid I'm no longer in Edinburgh, but have moved back to boring old Boston. I hadn't realized I was still listed as being in Edinburgh. Rats, I know exactly where the spot is. Wait, looking at the article, it already has a picture. Is that not a good one? Anyway, I'm afraid can't help, sorry. — Asbestos | Talk (RFC) 15:33, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
Lead sentence structure
[edit]Hi TonyJoe. Thanks for your message. I just thought that the lead sentence seemed slightly long and also needed to be rearranged. In addition, the word "series" was repeated twice, whereas now this occurs once. Also, the second paragraph made the first reference to Hogwarts in the entire article, without explaining what it is, so it made sense to move the link from its original section and give it its full title. Hope you didn't mind the edit. :-) Chris 42 20:58, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

Edit summaries
[edit]When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.
Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. -Will Beback 02:50, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
Potter
[edit]TonyJoe, I don't think it's quite there. The "Themes" subsection is still a little long or short of citations. I could buy a two or three sentences for each theme in a two or three paragraph subsection as being obvious from the books, but I'm unsure as it is now. That said, I won't be the one to fail it again. :) --Monocrat 05:10, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
re: Daniel Webster FAC
[edit]Hi TonyJoe,
It was actually the Featured Article Director, User:Raul654 who made the decision to delist the nomination; I just help out with adding the {{facfailed}} tags. So if you want a specific answer, or to see if he would give it more time, you'll need to talk to him. Generally, though, if a nomination has run for about five days and hasn't gained any supports and hasn't appeared to have made much headway addressing nominations, he'll remove it. You can nominate it again; the rule-of-thumb is to wait two weeks and to work to address any existing objections in that time, and hopefully to get the thumbs-up from any earlier objecters, if possible. —Bunchofgrapes (talk) 02:43, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
Image:Godrics Hollow.jpg
[edit]Just so you know, I noticed that your image Godrics Hollow.jpg has been tagged as unsourced. I'm assuming it came from some promo in advance of the 1/2 Blood Prince film? Anyway, it got removed from the Godric's Hollow by OrphanBot as a result, and you may want to include the source info before it gets deleted entirely. Hope you get back from Wikibreak in time to deal with this, and that this info is useful! Crypticfirefly 02:29, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
See my comments on the featured article nomination; this should be helpful! --TheM62Manchester 22:26, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello TonyJoe! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot notifying you on behalf of the the unreferenced biographies team that 1 of the articles that you created is currently tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 312 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
- Derick St. Rose-De Hunter - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL

The article Derick St. Rose-De Hunter has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Unable to find significant coverage on article subject to establish notability.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
