Vandalism coming from this IP address
[edit]Hi, I noticed a message from you while browsing Wikipedia from my hotel. It appears a vandal used this hotel's WiFi to vandalize HuffPo's article here, you might want to ban this IP from edits in the future. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 40.130.109.2 (talk) 01:42, 15 June 2018 (UTC)
Thanks and Notice
[edit]Hi,
Thanks for joining in with dealing with the somewhat repetitive vandalism on Southend News today, as well as requesting RPP
Since you are a checkuser, even if on a different wiki, could you have a look at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/185.20.136.166 ? I've never submitted one before and would like to make sure it's got enough info for them to have a look at? Nosebagbear (talk) 17:43, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, i'm not a checkuser, i'm just a simple vandal fighter. Thx for the welcome :) Tomybrz Bip Bip 17:44, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
- Sorry, my fault for not reading your userpage properly! Nosebagbear (talk)
Question
[edit]Hello, I would like to hear your justifications for reverting my corrections to the La Llorona (Song) page please — Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.180.62.14 (talk) 17:49, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, your last contributions is suspect. So i apologize if i made wrong reverting. Tomybrz Bip Bip 17:54, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
- Could you please elaborate on "suspect"? The changes to the translation to me seem to fix obvious grammar errors. For example:
- If they ask who sing - Alas, Llorona!
- Say to they that is a deserter
- That's just wrong English, and 208.180.62.14's changes clearly improved it. I'll reinstate the changes; if there's something wrong with them, please explain what it is. Huon (talk) 18:00, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
- I saw you just reverted yourself. Thanks! Huon (talk) 18:03, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
- Could you please elaborate on "suspect"? The changes to the translation to me seem to fix obvious grammar errors. For example:
Hi @Huon and 208.180.62.14: i'm a bit tired, so i'm very sorry for the mistake, i stop patrolling for the night. Again i'm sorry. sincerelyTomybrz Bip Bip 18:05, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
I just put about 3 hours making thoughtful spanish translations to the lyrics of this beautiful song which I just found out about, so that the words would make sense to English speakers. Would you please undo those reverted things you did? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.180.62.14 (talk) 18:01, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
Warnings on 212.219.143.60
[edit]Wouldn't it be a level-3 warning instead of an immediate hit to level-4? I'm not so sure. I only put it at level-2 to start as it was obvious vandalism going on for a long time. I'd like your input. Thanks! Neo(chat w/ me!) 14:34, 19 October 2018 (UTC)
- Hi , it's a school ip, maybe i forgot level 3, but i think it's the only way to stop it quickly. Tell me if i'm wrong. regards. Tomybrz Bip Bip 14:39, 19 October 2018 (UTC)
ArbCom 2019 election voter message
[edit]Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!
[edit]Hello,
Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.
I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org, so we can invite you in!
From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.
If you have any questions, please let us know at google-code-in-admins@lists.wikimedia.org.
Thank you!
