Note
All users are expected to be co-operative. Ignoring everyone who tries to talk to you, especially to question your edits, and removing their messages, isn't going to get you very far. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 18:30, 10 March 2012 (UTC)
- I archive my talk roughly the same time daily. I cannot explain that matter well, but I classed it as section blanking, using STiki. Also STiki only shows the modified sections, not the whole page so I could not see the redirect.~ ⇒TomTomN00 @ 18:32, 10 March 2012 (UTC)
Do you really think it's a good idea to create a new archive page every day? Most users have like a ton of messages on each archive page, you seem to have like two or three on each. Are you under the impression that having a lot of talk archives makes you look like a more experienced user? Because I can't think of any other explanation for that. It's just silly, and not very useful when trying to find anything.
You can set a bot to do automatic archiving for you, instructions here: User:MiszaBot/Archive HowTo. (Basically all you'll need to do is add a piece of code to the top of your talk page.)
And PLEASE be more careful with STiki. Whatever you do with it is YOUR responsibility. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 18:48, 10 March 2012 (UTC)
Your userpage
Frood! Ohai What did I break now? 21:26, 10 March 2012 (UTC)
- I have removed that section on User:Tomtomn00/userpage1 and would like my userpage and it's semi-protection restored, if possible. ~ ⇒TomTomN00 @ 21:30, 10 March 2012 (UTC)
Sorry, I can't do that, you'll have to ask one of the oversighters to restore it. It's my personal policy that I try to have minors' information removed from the website if there's enough to potentially identify them. Frood! Ohai What did I break now? 21:35, 10 March 2012 (UTC)
- Do you know who removed it? ~ ⇒TomTomN00 @ 21:42, 10 March 2012 (UTC)
- Your edits to User:Tomtomn00/userpage1 and User:Tomtomn00 have been placed even beyond the sight of admins. Frood made the request for them to be hidden via e-mail and Frood may well not know who did the suppression. Any request by you to have them restored is likely to be refused point-blank. But a request to have selected content e-mailed to you will probably be accepted. But acceptance will come with a stern warning not to publish the content again on Wikipedia. Make your request via one of the methods described here. Incidentally, there is no point in requesting semi-protection until there is evidence that your page has been subject to vandalism. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 23:30, 10 March 2012 (UTC)
Use of STiki
Please be more careful with what you do with STiki, since you are still fully responsible for your actions, even if a semi-automated tool was used. Rollback should only be used in cases of obvious vandalism. In situations where it is not obvious, it's best to manually undo it with a reason. I'm not sure why you thought it was a good idea to restore this, which is just a bunch of badly formatted meaningless material that is likely to be copy/pasted from somewhere else. Orphaned non-free image File:500px-RobloxWikiHeader.png
Thanks for uploading File:500px-RobloxWikiHeader.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 00:53, 11 March 2012 (UTC)
I don't know if you've looked at the responses to your "oppose" at this RfA, but I think you should, and I think you should take the comments to heart. Opposing someone because they didn't every day of their lives, or didn't make as many edits as you did in a day, that's not an opinion that anyone will take seriously. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 03:16, 11 March 2012 (UTC)
- Edit rate has absolutely nothing to do with experience. Note that Pol430 responded "I too am a bit confused as to why my edit/day rate makes me unsuitable to be an admin. The rate at which I edit varies. The reason I miss some days altogether, is that I have a full time job outside of Wikipedia" to your oppose. I think your oppose is really, really, unacceptable and something no one would take seriously. I'm not saying that you should indent it or do anything, I'm just saying you need to give more constructive opposes in the future. Thanks. Bmusician 03:25, 11 March 2012 (UTC)
Inappropriate edit summaries.
While using STiki, I note that you are continuing to use the same edit summary, (Reverted edit(s) by Foo identified as test/vandalism using STiki) irrespective of what you have reverted, including good edits and good faith edits. This, as I have already explained on my talkpage, with examples, is counterproductive. By all means use this edit summary when it is can only be vandalism but you are not even considering good faith. Cheers. --Richhoncho (talk) 06:29, 11 March 2012 (UTC)

Hey, Tomtomn00, I recently noticed the user boxes you put up on your page. It shows that you're an professional Java programmer, C++ programmer, HTML programmer. Why aren't you creating scripts? If you do create one, submit it here. One for a minor note, thanks for using my Edit Count tool, and congrats! (bcoz of the edit rate you're having each day.) Dipankan says.. - I spend most of my time on random projects for ICT to show off to my teacher! Also, would you say 110-578 edits per day is good for me? (~578 on Saturday) ~ ⇒TomTomN00 @ 16:37, 12 March 2012 (UTC)
- Stop counting your daily edits, that isn't a useful criterion. Better yet, try limiting yourself to 15 edits per day. If you only have 15 edits, you'll put a lot more time into making them accurate and meaningful. MBisanz talk 19:51, 12 March 2012 (UTC)
- It doesn't matter about edit numbers, it's just my personal notice the fact I count it. If I make 500, it may recover for the 1 year 3 months I didn't make any edits, which could make it average out around 15 edits per day. ~ ⇒TomTomN00 @ 19:59, 12 March 2012 (UTC)
- You're missing my point so badly, I can't tell if you are trying to be difficult. You can count your edits and advertise it however you desire; no one will stop you. Nearly everyone though will question your judgment and maturity as an editor though for counting your daily edits in that manner. As you appear to desire the community aspects of Wikipedia, exhibiting behaviors that do not conform with community norms will not help to advance your goal. MBisanz talk 20:05, 12 March 2012 (UTC)
- If you desire to be an admin, the main thing people are looking for is clue. Edit count is a secondary measure to clue. Slow down, be sensible and you'll be fine. Wikipedia isn't a competition, it's an encyclopedia. Listen to people like MBisanz and you'll learn a lot. —Tom Morris (talk) 20:10, 12 March 2012 (UTC)

Sure, I am going to have to slowly cut back on edits, due to the amount of homework I am getting now (Mostly large projects) - I will see this as an oppitunity to slow down a bit. ~ ⇒TomTomN00 @ 20:14, 12 March 2012 (UTC)
- I would suggest you having a Wikibreak. You're over-enthusiastic, that's great, but definitely you need to slow down. Dipankan says.. ("Be bold and edit!") 03:30, 13 March 2012 (UTC)

Not sure why you felt it necessary to Anglicize spelling in an article about an American organization playing a mainly American sport. You didn't provide any reason for this in the edit summary. I have reverted it. Echoedmyron (talk) 17:45, 12 March 2012 (UTC)

publishing an article on wikipedia
Hi Tomtomn00,
My name is hkal777, I have just created an article, it is in my talk and I would like to post it on wikipedia, however, I am going in cycles and ending up in my talk and sandbox but I am not able to put my article on wikipedia for public.
Could you help me?
Thank you, hkal777 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hkal777 (talk • contribs) 11:20, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
- You don't own the article - DO NOT SAY 'In a recent interview with the author of the article... the author of the article spoke to' or something like that. Break it into sections like ==External Links== at the bottom - or ==Description== or ==Personal Life==. Also, sign your posts with 4 tides - ~~~~. Thanks - ~ ⇒TomTomN00 @ 16:59, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
- sorry, was this meant for me? I am afraid I don't know what it is about :"In a recent interview with the author of the article..." - I have only referred to emails from the director and also what should I break? "Break it into sections like ==External Links== at the bottom - or ==Description== or ==Personal Life==". What is a tide? "sign your posts with 4 tides"?
I am very confused whit this language and feel desperate because I am trying to post this article the whole day and am not able to get any help I would understand...... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hkal777 (talk • contribs) 17:17, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
- A tide is a ~. Doing four of them (~~~~) puts a signature after your post. I will edit a copy and show you what I would do it like, I won't edit yours. ~ ⇒TomTomN00 @ 17:22, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
ok, there are the citations now, I see now what you mean whit tides, is there now as well........ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hkal777 (talk • contribs) 17:24, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
- How about this: User:Tomtomn00/PA_Test_13.03.2012? ~ ⇒TomTomN00 @ 17:36, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
Tom, maybe you should read about reliable sources and original research as well. A private e-mail can not be used as a source, and that one website does not appear to be a reliable independent source. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 17:44, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
- I have. I'm just doing a basic start on the article. If the interview was published on a blog or somewhere else on the web, I would reference it properly. However I wouldn't think of starting this article about a person without more sources, also mainly because about 90% of the things that need to be sourced, aren't. ~ ⇒TomTomN00 @ 17:47, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
Hi Tom, Thank you very much for your constructive help! I have added some more sources, however they are mostly not in English. Is it a problem? How many sources such an article need? I will be back in a few hours. Hkal777 (talk) 18:31, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
- Depends what it is. If it's a short stub, then about 2/3. If it's as long as that I'd say about 4/5. Extremley long (example; United Kingdom) would be 100+. ~ ⇒TomTomN00 @ 18:41, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
Hi there, Tomtomn00 and Hkal777. I saw your conversations and though I might be able to help. Before we go any further, I would suggest that you both read Wikipedia:Your first article which has some very sound advice on writing an article. While you are reading it, make sure that the subject you are writing about really is notable enough for an article - if it is not, the article will probably end up being deleted quite soon. Once you've established that, I would suggest you rewrite the lead with WP:LEAD in mind. The lead needs to encompass everything that is already in the article, in summary form. Anything in the lead that is not in the main body of the article needs to be in the main article. Whenever I write articles, I tend to write the main article first and then do the lead, to ensure a good summation. Does that make sense? If you need any further advice, just let me know. If you like, I can review the article before you publish it to ensure that it is ok - let me know if you would like that. ItsZippy (talk • contributions) 18:57, 13 March 2012 (UTC)

- I can see no changes since I made my last comment. Have a read of the two guidelines I gave you - the main improvements you need to make are expanding the body of the article and rewriting the lead. Have a look at Kroger Babb as an example of a good media biography article.
- Tomtom, on a different note, do you have my talkpage on your watchlist? If not, can I suggest that you do, so that I don't have to keep using talkback templates here? Thanks. ItsZippy (talk • contributions) 19:21, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
- I am watching your page, yes. ~ ⇒TomTomN00 @ 19:26, 13 March 2012 (UTC)

Hi TomTomm and ItsZippy, I have had a proper read of the links you provided in the text above and even though I still believe this director is a noticeable person I would love to work on the article about her. Do I need to get more info for the main body or would it be enough to rewrite it and get more references? And I need to rewrite the lead. However, I have an essay and dissertation outline to hand in on Monday, so it is not the most convenient time for me to work on it. @ItsZippy: thank you very much for your kind and helpful advice! @TomTomm: Thank you very much for helping me to understand how to format the written! Without you two guys, if I would be communicating with Jeraphine Gryphon only, I would never be back, she should stop telling people off, it does not improve image of your community, seriously....... Kind regards, hkal777 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hkal777 (talk • contribs) 10:06, 14 March 2012 (UTC)
- Don't knock Jeraphine. She has been trying to help. Please note that the ~ is called a tilde. Suggestion: create cs:Janka Ryšánek Schmiedtová. If that article survives for three months, then come here and publish the English version. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:04, 14 March 2012 (UTC)
Yes that is a good idea, thank you! And I will try to dig out more articles in English. Might be Jeraphine wanted to help, but not in a very friendly way. I felt more she wants to get rid of me, as I have mentioned before, if there would be communication only with Jeraphine, I would definitely not come back and would advise anybody else rather never come in touch with wiki community..... But I am back, you see :-) Thanks again! Hkal777 (talk) 20:16, 14 March 2012 (UTC)
