Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Earth Liberation Front do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia.
- Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove unwanted links and spam from Wikipedia. If you were trying to insert a good link, please accept my creator's apologies, but note that the external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
- The external links I reverted were matching the following regex rule(s): rule: '\bblogspot\.com' . If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, or similar site, then please check the information on the external site thorougly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creators copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).
- Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! XLinkBot (talk) 16:17, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
Images again
[edit]I take it you're Blueberrypie. Please don't mix up the ALF and ELF permission to use images. This will have to be confirmed separately as an ELF image and you will need something from them to confirm that their images are PD. Not everything on the ALF site was taken by the ALF.
Look, you are causing people a huge amount of extra work with all this uploading and adding logos inappropriately. Why don't you slow down, and let us explain how to use the site so that what you post doesn't keep on being removed? SlimVirgin (talk)(contribs) 17:14, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
- I second Slim's call to slow down a bit. We seem to have a pattern of lots of edits, followed by a block, followed by a new user name, edits, block etc. Things will work better if you can stick to one account, discuss changes with others editors . This would avoid further blocks. A little more care is needed with your contributions such as the Image:ELFLogo.gif which was incorectly placed on lots of articles. --Salix alba (talk) 17:37, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
Categories
[edit]Categories are like filing systems, when you create a sub folder of a folder, you do not place a file in both the sub-folder and the larger folder. That makes the sub-folder redundant. The point of having a sub-folders is that you can them move files out of the larger folder and organise them in a more specific way.
Therefore If you are going to make a category, such as Category:Radical environmentalism and make it a sub-category of Category:Environmental movements and Category:Green anarchism, that is fine. However, whenever you add this category to an article, please remove the parent categories. The article does not need to be in both.
Also, the same principle holds when you categorise categories themselves. If Category:Radical environmentalism is a sub-category of Category:Environmental movements, then it should not be a subcategory of Category:Environmentalism (because Category:Environmental movements is a subcat of Category:Environmentalism).
Over-categorisation is confusing. Sub-categories should not be made of a whim (like for example, The Category:Green Scare, which is clearly lacking verifiability by reliable sources) and if you do make one, ensure that those article you place in it are not over categorised. I have been attempting to tidy up the problems I mention above, but it would be really helpful if you could attempt to do it yourself in future. Thanks. Rockpocket 20:49, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Hi, the recent edit you made to Radical environmentalism has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thanks. GFDL
[edit]Hi Tom, when you copy or move material word for word from one article into another, as you did here, could you in future please say in the edit summary "This section copied from [or moved from] [name of article]"?" Perhaps also include a link to that section in the edit summary. That way, if people want to know who wrote it, they can find out. This is a requirement of the GFDL licence that Wikipedians have licensed their material under.
Although copying material is allowed, in general I would say it's better to take it and rewrite it in your own words, to make sure it fits the context, and so that our articles on a particular subject don't all have the same text. Cheers, SlimVirgin (talk)(contribs) 18:12, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
Image Cats
[edit]Hi Tom. Thanks for you recent edits to various ALF articles, they are much improved. I have some more advice, though. Free images are often moved to Wikimedia Commons, which is a more suitable place for many of them than Wikipedia. An example of this is Image:Pharmacies.jpg. Note that it appears to be on Wikipedia because you can link to it in the same way as an article here, but note also the templates that says:
- This is a file from the Wikimedia Commons. The description on its description page there is shown below
These sorts of images are not actually on Wikipedia, and are categorised at Commons instead (see the actual page here) therefore we don't need to categorise them here. Infact, our ultimate goal is to have all free media at Commons instead of here, so everything free that you have uploaded will end up there eventually and be deleted from here. Thus all your categorisation of images here is somewhat redundant, it would be much more useful to categorise tham at Commons. You can expedite this by uploading your free images to Commons directly (see m:Commons:Welcome for help). However, the main thing is to ensure that previously moved and deleted images, such as Image:Pharmacies.jpg are not catgorised here. Thanks for your help. Rockpocket 19:38, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:ELFActions.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:ELFActions.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Orphaned non-free image (File:NAALPO.gif)
[edit]You've uploaded File:NAALPO.gif, and indicated that it's used under Wikipedia's rules for non-free images. However, it's not presently used in any articles. Wikipedia policy requires that non-free images be either used or deleted, so if this image isn't used in an article in the next week, it will be deleted.

Replaceable fair use Image:ELFActions.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:ELFActions.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Bkell (talk) 23:03, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:Ledburyblockade.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Ledburyblockade.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Calliopejen1 (talk) 00:26, 22 July 2011 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
