This message is from the user Toddyking. Please note that the Todd P page I created is NOT about me. I am not Todd P, and I have nothing to do with this individual other than the fact that we share the same first name and I spoke to him once, for about 10 minutes, at a concert. Before deleting the article for lack of significance, please note that Todd P's concert promotion efforts have been discussed in many major publications including _The New York Times_ and _The Village Voice_. This is because, for better or for worse, Todd P exerts a major influence on the shape of indie rock music by organizing many concerts (on average probably 3 or 4 per week) in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, where a substantial portion of the fan base of this music is concentrated. Thanks for your attention to this matter.

Some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article todd p may not be sufficiently well-known to merit articles of their own. The Wikipedia community welcomes newcomers, and encourages them to become Wikipedians. On Wikipedia, all users are entitled to a user page in which they can describe themselves, and this article's content may be incorporated into that page. However, to merit inclusion in the encyclopedia proper, a subject must be notable. We encourage you to write or improve articles on notable subjects. JianLi 14:41, 5 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My apologies if you are truly not Todd P. I have moved Todd p to Todd P for correct capitalization. Thank you for including links to reputable sources such as the NYTimes. All of the information within the article, in order to ensure WP:NPOV, has to be verifiable. Thus, please keep the text of the article free from opinions which are not substantiated by external sources. JianLi 17:13, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your help. Again, if necessary, I would be happy to send you an e-mail from my official university account to prove to you that I am not Todd P.

That's ok, it won't be necessary. I've tagged your article as lacking references, but I have some advice if you want to improve it. First, don't reference sources such as discussion boards, as they are not held to be reliable. Second, even though your references are listed, they aren't attached to specific facts. If you want to put a citation next to a fact, like this[1], you'll have to click the link below.

References

[edit]

I've edited the page to include citations to a message board in which the subject's personality is discussed. I know of no other published source regarding this issue. My primary knowledge of this information is based in anecdotes from people in the independent music industry. If the source I cited is not adequate, then we can delete the discussion of Todd P's personality altogether. However, this would detract somewhat from the factual comprehensiveness of the article, as it seems that Todd's personality creates a dilemma for some bands between working with someone who is seen as rude or losing a major avenue to exposure in Brooklyn.

Likewise, I would suggest that the article be moved from "Todd P." to "Todd P" (no period). Although the "P" appears to stand for Patrick and is thus an abbreviation, it is generally printed without a period following the P.

My bot, Alphachimpbot, did not warn you. It substituted a transcluded warning template. See WP:SUBST for a good description of what I'm talking about. alphaChimp laudare 21:11, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also push the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! alphaChimp laudare 21:12, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Todd Patrick

[edit]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Todd Patrick. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Todd Patrick. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:16, 26 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
