Notability of TradeMark Express

[edit]

A tag has been placed on TradeMark Express requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. -Zeus- 22:04, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

Please don't remove the speedy delete template; an admin will do that if the page deserves to stay. —Preceding unsigned comment added by -Zeus- (talkcontribs) 22:17, 5 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
PLEASE stop removing the delete templates; they're important. -Zeus- 22:23, 5 February 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by -Zeus- (talkcontribs)

Yikes, sorry for deleting those tags! Tmexpress (talk) 22:32, 6 February 2009 (UTC)Shannon[reply]

[edit]

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article TradeMark Express, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam); and,
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for businesses. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. Wuhwuzdat (talk) 23:07, 5 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved, as you did at TradeMark Express. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your band, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.

Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.

If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles.) Thank you. Wuhwuzdat (talk) 23:08, 5 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with TradeMark Express. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion. Thank you. Wuhwuzdat (talk) 23:08, 5 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your Username

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy for the following reason: It appears to be a promotional username. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?

I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.

You have several options freely available to you:

Thank you. Kurt Shaped Box (talk) 00:13, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for being so kind Kurt! I'm new to this Wiki world so am obviously clueless about how to do this. I understand that there's some major issues and I cannot create this page myself. I mistakenly assumed that other company centered Wiki pages were created in-house. It still seems so odd to me that some random person would care enough about a company to create a Wiki page for a company they have no connection to. Tmexpress (talk) 22:31, 6 February 2009 (UTC)Shannon[reply]

Is there another username you'd be happy to contribute under? Promotional/company names are generally disallowed by the username policy. You can submit a request for rename here. Regards, Matt (Talk) 03:32, 8 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
