Republic of Ireland
[edit]I saw you naming comment on the Republic of Ireland talk page. May I suggest that you don't even go there. This issues has been raised several time in the last few years but because there is also an article Ireland for the island of Ireland it is not possible to have two articles named the same. It is very clear in the naming paragraph that the constitutional name is Ireland. There has never been an consensus to change the name after many heated discussions. The most recent was earlier this year and you should absolutely read the last renaming discussion that went on for a month before you consider if it is worth pushing forward with a change proposal again now. Remember, besides there being thousands of articles where links would need to be fixed by someone, that if any change were made, it can only come with consensus. As a novice editor you may want to think long and hard about this because many experienced editors before you have already given their best on both sides of the topic. (I reply where the discussion starts, so I am watching you) Cheers ww2censor (talk) 14:48, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
