Hi C.Fred!
KTP is an organization I'm on the National Board for, and the Wikipedia page is mine to be in charge of updating. The information I added includes website links and Instagram for many of our chapters. All information is unbiased and accurate. Tjoppich (talk) 05:31, 12 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, I don't understand. It's my job to uphold the advancement of the organization. How is informing page visitors on where to get more information a conflict of interest? First, thank you for declaring not only that you have a conflict of interest, but that you are a paid editor.
Second, your statements show that you have not read Wikipedia's policies, particularly WP:COI and WP:NPOV. Your earlier comment about adding website links and Instagram links to chapters in the list is a clear violation of WP:External links. Hi again C.Fred,
I'd like to clarify - I am a student and not a paid editor. My leadership position gives me the responsibility to uphold the history of our chapter, which right now is hosted on Wikipedia. I do not understand how displaying the history of the National Chapter in an unbiased fashion is not allowed. I understand that I have a conflict of interest, but nobody else is updating our page. Our page has not been edited outside of new chapters on the list since 2021. Links are outdated, information is outdated, and we have grown. If it is your job to update it, I do not understand how you can do so without knowing anything about us. Please help me understand. Tjoppich (talk) 15:32, 12 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think you misunderstand the purpose of Wikipedia. Articles are paraphrased summaries of content previously published in reliable and independent sources. Readers expect to find neutral articles about notable topics, written independently of their subject.
An organization doesn't have any right of ownership or control over the content of a Wikipedia article about it. The article is not meant for what the organization wishes to say about itself or what it considers to be its own history. As someone with a conflict of interest, you should learn the process to make edit requests on the article's talk page. This will allow your changes to be reviewed by independent editors, who will either accept, reject or suggest revisions. This process of discussion and compromise is done with the goal of achieving consensus, which is Wikipedia's fundamental editorial model. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 22:14, 12 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for this clarification. It sounds like Wikipedia is not going to be a place for others to receive the most accurate, up to date information about what it is hosting.
